Amazing, I crossed my break-in and got an oil change today, I saw these lights in DIC and HUD for the first time today! I did not know these even exist!!!

I don't use the shift points I look at the tachometer and use 1500 rpm for each gear as the sweet spot lower you are lugging the car and above 1500 you need to be in the next gear !!! Wayne

I already told you what I figured out - As you approach the red line the lights are intended to tell you it's a good time to shift now. I don't know what you mean by "do not come on in succession" in succession to what exactly? In a straight line? In Track mode there are lights that come from the left and right toward each other. Last time I checked that line was straight. And I don't know what you mean by "split". "Appropriate any help"? Really? I'm not sure that's even English. Perhaps you should try harder to explain what your problem seems to be then maybe I can explain. But in general the lights are telling you it's time to shift to the next gear. How hard is that to understand?

I just completed the 500 mile oil change in my new C7 GS. In manual mode there are shift lights at the top of the HUD. There is nothing in the manual about how to use them. What are they indicating and how are they used? Thanks for any help oh great guru's of the C7's. I love the car, by the way. It is an amazing step up from the C6. Still trying to learn all of the things it can do. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...lies/crazy.gif

Thanks, but I guess you didn’t see the emoji at the end of my message. Since learning to drive a manual in 1963 I’ve always shifted by sound and feel or by watching the tach when so equipped.

Any serious 1/4 mile person with a manual trans would hardly use hud. Also anyone wanting to know exactly what rpm the trans shifts at during WOT conditions like a 1/4 mile pass or even roll racing wouldnt have a clue with hud shift lights.
The programable shift light allows for necessary early light on settings which would be different for each gear so you never hit the rev limiter as everyone has a different reaction time during speed or powershifting and never have to look at hud or the tach.
