Picked up my first Corvette last month, a 2018 Z51. Not sure if what I'm experiencing is normal for Corvettes. After parking the car I hear a sizzling sound like water droplets hitting a hot stove. I didn't notice this the first couple of weeks, but do now every time I park. Today's drive home was 45 minutes cruising at interstate speeds. The sizzling was noticeable for a couple minutes after turning off the engine. It was intermitent and eventually stopped. AC was running the whole drive home. I looked under the hood to see if I could see anything, but couldn't. I expect it's AC condensation hitting hot engine parts, but I was struck by how hot the engine was. Much hotter than my Sierra V8 after a similar drive. I've been keeping an eye on the engine temp and it's staying in the 190-200 degree range. Anyone else experience this or know if it's normal?
This is normal, mine does it too. I do wonder if they knew this was going to happen when they designed it.
OF course they knew, but it does not really hurt anything in the overall scheme of things.
I guess if it really bothers you, you could always extend a tube from the A/C drain to where it does not fall on the exhaust. Then you have to worry about the drain stopping up.
My GS was doing that and it's no big deal...But even though it's fine, it makes me "think" something is wrong....So I just turn the AC off a few minutes before I get home...no more sizzle....magic.

It is normal. It is the engines way of telling you it's time to turn the stake and potato you have cooking on the manafold.
