Time is supposed to be set from the cellular network. Seems to be hitting the wrong time zone for me. And it seems to be that this started after letting the onboard cellular expire.
Do you have to be subscribed to the cellular service for it to maintain the time? Seems silly if that is the case.
I have a similar but not identical issue. Mine sets automatically but it's always 2 or 3 minutes fast. Even after I reset it manually it goes back to being fast after a few days.
I think you're right on pairing with the phone. Not sure why it was off, my phone was with me when I drove it. But then when I got back in the car and started it up, I saw the phone pair and then the clock changed.
One would think it would keep the last synced time until something else synced with it though, rather than shifting the time by a bunch of time zones.
You shouldn't have to do anything in order for it to sync up the time. My C6 still syncs up the time absolutely perfectly, right down to the second (local radio station has a beep every half hour that you can set your clocks to) and I don't subscribe to OnStar or anything like that at all. So if my C6 can do it I don't see why a C7 wouldn't.
