No, all C7s w/ the NPP system have valves closing at various times even in track mode to comply with federal noise regulations, per an "Ask Tadge" answer posted here.
The only way to keep them open all the time is to pull the fuse, or install a Mild-to-Wild module, which simply controls power to the fuse with the press of a button.
The open NPP exhaust is not obnoxiously loud anyway. Simple to pull 42 fuse and store it in a spare slot. Still quiet compared to aftermarket but noticeably louder than normal. No biggie just a little extra for those who like it loud. I guess Corvette could pipe in the sound like some other manufacturers but that is just weird.

Mild/Wild was best option for me so I don't **** off the neighbors every morning.
Agree, that's what I did. Although I keep my M2W on the open setting (fused pulled) most of the time, there is a noticeable drone in 6-7 (7MT) at legal highway speeds with the fuse pulled. The M2W is a convenient way of eliminating that drone without pulling over and reinstalling the fuse.
On page 4 there's a post on where to find a ground in the fuse box, so the ground wire doesn't have to stick out...everything fits inside the fuse box.
I've made this contraption for my car, and it's GREAT! I've actually been meaning to go back and move my ground inside, so this thread has reminded me.
Sure it's "easier" (and free), but you lose all control of the valves without putting the fuse back in.
I leave the Engine Sound Management in Stealth, so when I need to talk on the phone (or leaving at 5am) I push my remote button and all is instantly quiet. All other times, V8 glory (I have V4 disabled).
The DIY remote method is $25 in parts. WELL worth it. And this is from the OP of the NPP fuse pull thread in Tech...
Realize that if you have an automatic, the exhaust is going to get quiet whenever the engine's in 4 cyl mode, whether you pull the fuse, use a Mild to Wild, or whatever.
Thanks, but isn't that from an earlier year car than the 2017?
Oh yeah, my bad. I forgot that that newer ones allow require/allow you to select Stealth, Tour, Sport or Track tones if not on Automatic (No off option). When I first posted, I took a internet picture and it's been a while since I went into the settings menu. Attached is a picture of the exhaust tone options on my 2017.
No C7 has full open all the time. As stated above the only way to have them fully open is to create an open circuit for the valve control. This can be done by removing the fuse or by the use of a mild to wild system.
The system is programed to close under certain conditions in order to pass federal drive by noise standards.

Correct

Even when you set the mode like this it will not keep the valves open all the time.
As an additional note, on my 2017 Z06, when I pulled fuse #42 and the car went into V4 mode it sounded horrendous! If you are going to pull the fuse to have it open, especially if it is and A8 that will go into V4 mode regardless of driving setting, I would get the AFM V4 disabler. Only way to disable AFM in an A8 is to manual shift with the paddles. Lucky for me Callaway disables the AFM when they install the tune for their SC757 package. I also installed the Corsa x-pipe and sport exhaust so no more valves for me anyway.

So I am confused by all this. When I set the exhaust to track the valves are open, if I rev the car they stay open, at what point do they close and then reopen when set to track mode? I have a 2018 M7 GS. Thanks!
