Default Powertrain Warranty

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a 2015 Auto and wonder if the remaining 3years of the power train warranty should cover any torque converter or transmission issues with the A8. There would be only 8 months left on the 3 yr. warranty.

Go with a protection plan through Chevrolet. I went with the platinum plan. You can negotiate the price then add it to your payment. It is full coverage for 5 years and up to 100,000 miles.

Yes, your remaining powertrain warranty should cover anything transmission-related.

C7s were introduced with 5yr/100K mile powertrain warranties. 16MY and beyond was reduced to 5yr/60K, but that's generally irrelevant. It's the 5-year part which is operative for the vast majority of folks. Almost no one is going to exceed 60K miles in 5 years.

Incidentally, certified pre-owned used C7s come with a 6-year powertrain warranty.

If you are going to get the extended warranty talk to Dennis first:
