I personally think round looks modern again with LED.
This mock up on an iPad looks pretty good in my opinion. I wish I could somehow get this done I know where to get the lights.

When the C7 was introduced, I wasn't sure I liked the tail lights. I had a C6 at the time. After a couple of years I began to think they looked alright. I now have a C7. Even though the C7 tail lights grew on me, I still don't care for the C8, tail lights and all.

If you find a way to do this let me know. Your mock up looks fabulous. Maybe if we get a couple people together we can lower cost.

Default C7 Round Tail lights

I looked into it and spoke to some pros. Apparently to make the mold so a bumper could be mass produced, the cost would be anywhere from 60 to $80,000 from what I was told. Say we get this done and buy the lights from Morimoto, either the C5 LED Round replacements which are a huge improvement, or the Ferrari replacement LED Tail Lights. I prefer LED Tail Lights that are solid lines or solid circles not separate visible dots, so I would go with the Morimoto Ferrari Lights. https://www.morimotohid.com/morimoto...led?quantity=1 Sounds good so far until I got schooled further when I spoke with a tech at Morimoto and this is what he said."The C6 and C7 have completely different connectors and vehicle electronics. It's not a matter of just swapping the plugs, you would also have to reprogram the vehicle's BCM or swap over the entire electrical system from the vehicle you want the lights from." Ouch!! that's nothing I could really afford to get involved in, nor am in the car the industry with the right contacts but it sounds real tempting because I believe that there's plenty of old school C7 Corvette owners that wish they had round tail lights and still haven't really gotten used to the rectangular look that looks a lot like the Camaros and once again on the C8. I feel the Corvette should stand alone as far as appearance compare to the rest of the Chevrolet lineup. The other day I see this segment on YouTube we're GM tells us how they had purchased a Ferrari in order to reengineer the outcome of the C8 mid engine V8 crank, bigger and better than ever. Well kudos to GM I think they did a great job, although I would never buy a C8, I have a 2019 convertible Z06 with a 7-speed manual which probably will never be happening again in the future. My point is that we went through all this for super car status but our supercar looks like a Camaro in the back again? I don't know GM.
If one of the resellers or manufactures of aftermarket Corvette products invests in this Round LED Tail Lights back bumper project, I bet you they wouldn't regret it. I would gladly purchase a complete kit with lights that are made specifically for the C7 electrical system that looks similar to the Ferrari tail light. Maybe there's a way to get this done after all if we start some kind of online list of people interested and that are also willing to put some kind of down payment down, if it's significant amount of requests maybe they'll take this seriously.
I can't believe no one's done it yet other than a few mock ups online and one that actually exists, its a company out of Maryland called Genovation.
https://genovationcars.com They're selling an all electric version of a C7 that's made history as far as being the first street legal over 200MPH electric car on the planet right now. Even though it was a longshot I emailed them and left them a voicemail a couple of weeks ago with no response, most likely due to the fact that there selling these cars for $750,000 and could give two craps about my bumper request. Not nice guys a simple sorry pal would of been nice, but no worries most of the people that I've encountered in this Corvette culture are pretty cool and very helpful.
I'm in my 50s and I've loved Corvettes since a child due to my Uncles 1967 Convertible L71 - 427/435 HP engine, Muncie 4-speed manual transmission w/side pipes. He had it restored in the early 80s. It was painted a midnight blue with a white top. I loved that car it.
For all the Corvette purists that frown on any updates that aren't stock, We're having a lot of fun with all the changes, slowly creating a one of a kind dream. I respect this car and what it stands for to our country.
The Z06 rests covered and plugged into its battery tender most of the year in a temperature control garage happy as hell until the summer is back when the tires can once again get nice and sticking. I keep it in pristine condition for someday down the line for the next caretaker. all the original parts, front bumper, back bumper, exhaust, air filter, hood, interior trim, Steering wheel, the 2LZ shorter side skirts, all were all carefully removed at 4000 miles in new condition, wrapped up and put away in temperature control storage, so the next owner can dial this car back to original at anytime.

All supercars look the rest of their line-up. This is NOT a Camaro thing. It is not a Chevy thing. It is a BRANDING thing.

With the C8 in its 4th year of production, you aren't going to see manufactures making round taillight options for the C7 especially when it's been 11 years since the launch of the C7. I'm sure you could work with a good fab shop and mock something up, but it's going to cost a lot.

If I can find an old C7 rear cover I will try to make a mold. I have the skills to do it and the tools. Picking out the lights I like would be the hardest part.
I think if you had a mold, you could easily get $1500-$1800 each. I would have my unique design trademarked or patented.

You really don't need to mold out a complete rear cover. A conversion kit and directions can get it done. Those who can't do it can bring the kit to a shop.

Ok, I'm hot on this now. The search for a junkie rear cover begins now.
I wonder if my PPG paint certification is still good 🤔

Sign me up! Where's your shop? I'll be the first customer but what about the vehicle's electronics? I'm concerned with what Morimoto said, that It's not a matter of just swapping the plugs, you would also have to reprogram the vehicle's BCM or swap over the entire electrical system from the vehicle you want the lights from. I don't want touch my cars electrical system. Morimoto also said that they could do custom tail lights for us but obviously on a large scale. They currently manufacture for a lot of cars that we see on the road.
I don't know of any other life companies that can do quality LED work and entertain a small minimum order.

You're right, we can see that but it doesn't hurt to think out of the box.
Ford did. That's a hell of a car but out of reach for most of us.

My opinion, GM design should have changed the round pipes to a more rectangular exhaust when they changed the taillight shape and added the Alice Cooper eye makeup. At one time, a poster that went to a rectangular set of pipes posted pictures of his car. I thought it was an improvement.

I like the tail lights on my 2019 GS but that's me. What ever floats your boat I guess.

Why bring back the C6 look? I thought we were past that.
