As you probably already read, in addition. Isn't part of the new capacity gonna be additional color capacity too? Why not stupid young people colors too? You want to sell the car to young people, maybe that might help a little. It's still very much a geriatric toy, so I can guarantee you will not drive around in a nuclear green Corvette if you don't want to.

I'm pretty flexible on colors, but I was hoping someday they will have a green and orange of some shade. I understand the more colors they have it could increase production costs a little. So be it. Have a surcharge on the colors that are less produced.

I still think it would be a good idea for GM to offer a custom color option on the Corvette where you can get any color you want, for an extra fee. Lots of European manufacturers do this and yes it's costly ($8000 or more I believe) but I bet a few people would take advantage of it in order to have something totally unique without having to go aftermarket

Yep--anytime I hear pearl white mentioned I think about a good old workhorse truck. Usually gravel dump truck or logging truck.

Default Pearl White is for blue-haired widows in Boca.

Two perfect examples, back to back. Regardless of age, we all have our own tastes.

I agree that blue is spectacular, but I doubt I'd kick either of them out of the garage if they magically appeared one day.

Since none of us have a choice, we're all in the same boat. Black is a credible color, but then, I've never met a vette I didn't like.

mschuyler: I think the idea is IN ADDITION TO, not IN PLACE OF. Old Farts can still have their dowdy colors, but if GM expects to attract a younger demographic, perhaps some colors with some pizzaz are not out of order.
Well maybe they will add some neon colors to attract younger buyers and I, being an old despised fart, have no problem with that. But I've seen some already with wraps of all types of colors from "pus yellow to vomit green" and whatever floats your boat. If the demand were so great how come GM didn't immediately run out and start painting Corvettes those colors? Most likely because they're waiting for the new paint shop or maybe most likely it's not profitable. But they are in the business to sell cars and make a profit .

Same reason that GM made the Cadillac Cimarron and didn't make the Buick Avista...

Also, I agree that it's not profitable, but if they really are trying to attract younger buyers, a small investment could pay dividends later rather than losing future plumbers to Porsches and M cars.

Maybe this is why GM came out with the new ceramic matrix gray color on the C7 hoping it will be a big seller. Wrong again.
