A friend with a 16 Z51 was telling me that GM is have a problem with the Torque Tubes built for the 2016 models....with the bearings going bad...I haven't hear anything....His is in the dealership now and he was told by someone int he service dept that many have gone bad. Has anyone here experienced any problems??
There have been some torque tube issues reported starting with the 2014 model. Some had repeat failures. There can also be engine thrust bearing issues if the replacement is not done correctly. Chevy issued a service bulletin giving proper replacement and alignment procedures.

Im
dealing with the same issue. Only thing different the dealership is giving me the run around. I purchase my corvette brand new in April and started hearing the noise and grinding at 2300mi. Now at 4400 the noise is constant and the techs continue to say it's ok to drive. What do I do?
L8ter,
I appreciate for responding. I just moved to Hawaii and I took it to both dealers. One totally blew me off and the other disognosed it. I called and made a claim and contacted my Jag officer as well. The tech told me the vehicle was still in good driving order, but from the sounds of it, in only a matter of time before it causes injury or damage. It's a weird feeling cause I purchased the vehicle brand new and as a customer I'm having to hassle them just to get the vehicle repaired in accordance with my warranty. Any suggestions?
