I drive my Z07 pretty hard and still have tread left at 12500. I did have a good alignment done when the car was nearly new.

For the reasons already stated by others. Also, you need to drive hard to get them up to temp. You shouldn't be driving that hard on the street! Thus, the track is the place to run the Cups.

I have cup 2s on mine but after spending the last two days at Ron Fellows, driving on Supper sports I have no doubt this is the last set of cup 2 I will put on the car.
I was very impressed with how well the tires proformed! Don't get me wrong I'm sure the cups would out proform however 99.9% of my driving is on the street and to get about three times to wear life is hard to overlook!

Speed= heat=grip, so to get the latter 2 things, it's not a good idea doing the first thing on the street.

Not to mention high-G turns at high speeds.

The Cup 2 still have far better cold traction than do the SuperSports Cold. Well, 50 deg and up anyway. Not sub freezing temps.

The track will wear tires out at over 10 times the rate street driving will. Simply friction at 1+ G will do it. Just like a long burn out will destroy a set of rears.

My Cup tires seem to be holding up nicely but I don't do burn outs and drive this car moderately on city streets. I did get 23,000 miles and 17 years of service out of a similar set of 6 mm tread depth DOT racing rubber (Kumho Ecsta V710s; no longer sold) on my 93 Corvette Convertible. Just Sunday drives on that car also.

So your usage is the primary driver of your tire life.

Old thread, I know. Just wanted to update that I got 15k miles out of them before the steel belt started to show.
