Yesterday on my way home from Carlisle I stopped for a break at a rest stop on Route 390 South of Rochester.
When I can back out to the car there was a minivan parked next to me, with a Dad and two young boys waiting for Mom to come back to the car.
I opened the car and the Dad asked if he could get a picture with the boys near the car. Of course I said yes.
After that picture I told the boys (I'm guessing they were 7 and 9 years old) that they should get behind the wheel and see how it fit them. The older boy politely declined, but the younger guy jumped right in! His Dad took a "thumbs up" picture and they all again thanked me.
I'm not sure if who enjoyed it more, them or me! They were all so polite and thankful that it really made my day!
Of course I had to wind the Z up through the gears when I took off, and in my rear view mirror I saw two boys and their Dad with big grins and "thumbs up" salutes!!

Had something similar happen last night. Wife and I went out to eat, and when we came out a mom, grandma, and grandson (about 8-10) were looking at the car. Kiddo wanted to hear the car startup, you should have seen his eyes when she fired off (NPP exhaust). Mom and Grandma had big grins.

If that ever happens again, I think I'm going to see if the kiddo wants to push the start button.

Have a good one,
Mike

Just goes to show that Corvettes really never age. As a C5 gets the same admiring looks as the C7-and rightly so.
