My carpet is super thin on both the passengers and drivers side. It looks almost like it is worn out, or missing some of the nap, fibers, or whatever you call it. I bought the car used with 7700 miles on it, so I find it hard to believe it's wear. Does everyones carpet look like this, or do I have a warranty claim?
Mine was that way brand new. Took it back to the dealer. They showed me several new ones exactly the same way. The offered to replace it but said they couldn't guarantee they could make it fit as snugly as the factory install.
Hmmmm, so some C7's do have the same issue. I wasn't really looking forward to having my seats pulled to replace the carpet, and like boofus1 said, it'll like not be a "factory" fit once they were done. Frankly, the only time I see it is when I pull the mats to detail the car. I'll probably leave it alone for now...
I think the carpet is one of the places they shaved a few pounds and a few dollars; since it covers much of the surface of the car a small change in its characteristics makes a difference overall.

We hope that if we show you enough other C7s with the same problem you might think it's normal. Then if that doesn't work we're going to scare you into thinking that we can't fix it properly.
All in the hopes that you just walk away and don't ask us to fix it at all.

You are the voice of reason. Sad, but perhaps, true.
My '14 with 75,000 miles looks virtually pristine, as far as wear in those area goes, on both sides.
The pics of those cars with threadbare carpet are sad, and a horrible testament to GM's QC and Customer Service.

It is kinda sad, but it's still a great car. 100% better build quality than my C4 was. The really sad part is I'm afraid to take it to the dealer for fear that they'll make it worse, or break something else. I suspect I'm not alone in this either...
You can always take it in and have them order the replacement parts (while keeping your car to drive). When the parts come in, then inspect them, and make the call whether you want them to go ahead and replace.

I can't believe (well maybe I can) that BG would install some carpet that looked that bad and was obviously defective. No way would I live with that. Seeing one was bad enough but to have several others report the same situation is inexcusable. The more I see paint issues and things like this I'm sure not regretting buying an early '14 that has only been to the dealer for oil changes and one air bag recall.

I agree with both...
Mine is a 2016 C7 3LT with 16305 miles so it's very close to yours and my carpet looks okay except a little bit mashed down from the mat (and some dirt ).
