Default Loud Fan

My radiator fan seems very loud. I can hear it within the car, and I'm sure people I pull up next to in traffic can hear it. I can't really explain what loud is, but I can't ever remember hearing other car fans without opening the hood. Maybe 2 or 3 times as loud as a bathroom fan. Is this normal for the C7 grand sport?

Yes, it is loud because it's a very high capacity fan. Yes, it's normal on all C7s.

I hear mine also, especially on a hot day in traffic.

I went to a ball game last night. There was a loud fan sitting behind me.

I was thinking the exact same thing. The fan is extremely loud.

You think the stock fans are loud get a set of D3 fan set up. Now you are talking loud but dam do they work in the car.

Turn up your radio and you will not hear it inside the car.

The fan does need to move a lot of air and the ducted area of the hood probably makes the noise more noticeable. But it doesn't sound unusually loud to me and I really don't find it noticeably louder than the cooling fan in my 2014 ATS.

Both sound very quiet compared to the engine driven fan in my GMC diesel pickup which is supposed to consume around 25 HP when its clutch is engaged and given the noise and amount of air it moves I don't doubt it.

The good part is that you don't have to wonder if it is working.
