Default Need Tire help

I know there have been several threads on tires, but now that I'm getting ready to put new shoes on my baby (and now that it's my DD and I need more grip in the rain) I would like some advice from the Forum members.

As an aside I have Michelin A/S 3's on my wife's Lexus, and they are so noisy I plan on changing them out even though there is still tread on the tire. It's so bad my wife has taken over our SUV as she cannot stand the road noise. I took the car to our trusty mechanic figuring the wheel bearings were shot, but they examined everything and said I need different tires. So...I know Michelin makes an A/S 3 and 3+ for the C7 but am hesitant to put these on the Corvette given my experience.

Any suggestions are welcome. The OEM tires are fine but not good in the cold or rain, and I will be driving in both this winter, although it does not get too cold in No. California.

Also, I don't need to have run-flats as most of my driving is local, and we take the SUV (and our labrador when possible) when we leave town.

Thanks in advance.

I put Continental DWS06 tires on my car immediately after delivery and have driven over 14k trouble free miles in all types of weather including ambient temps as low as 10 degrees F. I have no complaints. I recommend them wholeheartedly. I also have the same tires on my wife's AWD RX350. We drove in snow last winter with no problems. Don't plan to drive my C7 in snow but nice to know I could if I got caught in a sudden squall.
