I recently read a post here by Tadge about cleaning the leather interior. Good info, and cool to see he stops by to answer questions.
After purchasing a 3LT car, I've become a sun shield ****. I live in Las Vegas, and as most folks know, the sun is pretty intense here in the summer. I'd like to hear from anyone that has had a 3LT car for a few years, and maybe use it as a daily driver. Bonus if you live in a Sun State, and don't always use a sun shield. I'm curious if the sun has had any effect to the beautiful leather dash on a 3LT, after several years of sitting in the sun on a regular basis.
Thanks!

Reason: The **** is apparently a banned word. It referred to the German government in the late 1930's through mid 40's
Hi Dan! I'm also in Henderson. I've bought a 2014 3LT about a year ago, and it's my DD. I lay a sun shield over my dash whenever I'm parked in the sun, as I also am concerned about the longevity of the leather skin on the dash in the intense sun rays here.
Just putting an OST on your thread as I'm interested in hearing other's experiences as well.
(weird that the 4-letter common word for "National Socialist" is a banned word... maybe it is considered too inflammatory in today's world)

What did Tadge say about the leather? I missed it and have a 2017 3LZ Z06. thanks
Basically, just use water to clean it. Mentioned a GM product as well. What interested me is a comment he made about the leather being engineered to withstand extreme temps on both ends of the thermometer. Here's the link...
I'm in Tallahassee, the sun is brutal even in the Winter months. I daily mine and don't always use my sun shield. No ill effects yet on my black 3LT interior and it's a 2014. But then again I have a garage and work the over night shift so the car doesn't get a whole lot of sun when it is out.

My 2014 gets a little, wrinkle sorta, on the dash in direct sun. I live in Dallas Tx, so heat is a thing. The wrinkle goes away at normal temps.
My C6 was mostly fine in the 8 years I owned it. I live in Michigan so it isn't as hot.
For the C7 I'm planning on getting (next summer) some 70% ceramic tint (I think i's ceramic). Basically it has the same "heat rejection" properties of normal 5% tint but doesn't cut down on visibility (I'm happy with the stock 75% look).
Mostly its to keep the heat out of the car in the summer, but I feel the leather will last longer as well.
