I have a 78 that I have been rebuilding, when I have time, for too many years. The neighbors are aware of it and keep waiting for my sons and I to finish it. It is painted (except for the front clip and doors) with Eastwood's single-stage blue pearl paint. It is a work-in-progress, and we are learning as we go along.
On Thursday my son's Laguna Blue 2014 was delivered. We purchased it from Texas Auto Direct (Vroom.com). With the hurricane and the flooding, this was an adventure, to say the least.
On Friday I drove the car to the dealer to get it inspected. I passed the neighbor and a bunch of kids at the bus stop. She saw the car, and immediately ran inside to call her husband. "Honey. You know the corvette the neighbors are rebuilding. Mr. Brown just drove by me in it. It is AMAZING. He should work in the auto industry". She then told all the mom's the same thing at the bus stop the next day.
I guess I am somewhat of a legend in the neighborhood.. At least now it's not for all of my home-improvement accidents....
