Is this 2016 Calif Emissions Compliant
Interested in purchasing this 2016 that is out of State. Can anyone tell me if the below 2016 emissions sticker is California compliant? I have seen another 2014 sticker that looked different and said qualified. Don't know if things changed in 2016. Attached a photo of a 2014 sticker also.
If you have an 2016 in California can you post a photo of your emmissions compliant sticker?
I don not want to get stuck with this car if it is not compliant. DMV phone call of no help! Thanks

I brought two out-of-state C5's and my Hummer H3 here seven years ago but the rules for registering an car purchased out-of-state in Cali have not changed.
Fact is, if it meets Federal emissions requirements, you should have no problem registering it here.
Buying/Importing Out of State Vehicle
If you just moved to California with your out of state vehicle, purchased or are planning on buying an out of state car, in order to register it you will need to obtain a California smog check.
You're first step should be to visit a local California Department of Motor Vehicles field office and inquire on additional documents your vehicle's registration might require; other than current liability insurance, a valid and passing smog check certificate, and an out of state title or vehicle pink slip. You can always go directly to a smog check center first and then the DMV. If you've got all your paperwork in order getting your smog check before visiting the DMV will save you a return trip.
What type of smog station can inspect my out of state car?
Any type of smog station can inspect and certify your out of state vehicle (smog check & repair center, smog test only center, or any STAR certified smog station) so long as it's a used vehicle with at least 7,500 miles. New vehicles can not be registered in California unless they are 50-State Emissions certified.
If you've heard about California's strict smog laws there is no need to worry.
The fact is there is difference with California legal and Federal legal emission requirements, and for the most part, California is stricter. However, a used vehicle which is equipped with the necessary Federal Emission components is eligible for California registration as long as the vehicle's exhaust emissions fall within California's limits. It's true, in some cases Federal cars have different emission components but this does not ban them from being registered in California.

Yes, it's qualified. They just changed the sticker from 2014.

You can bring a used car into cali that does not have a cali compliant sticker on it if:
1. The car is over 1 year old since it was purchased new,
2. The car has at least 7500 miles on it.
If these two criteria are met the car does not need a cali compliant emissions sticker.
If the car was brand new being brought into cali from another state it would be required to have the cali emissions sticker.

If the car was brand new and being brought into California from another state with a Federal emissions sticker, it is required to have an emissions test prior to being registered.
