Default Quick Jack Reviews

I am looking at a Quickjack 7000 since I am so lucky as to not have a garage with a tall enough ceiling for a lift. I have a 2016 Z07 with the aero 3 package. has anyone used one or seen one in action? any comments welcome, including a better option for short ceilings
Thanks
Jon

I have the 5000 and it works like a charm even with the stage 3 aero.

Here's a link to one of the original posts regarding the Quick Jack. I have the 5000 and it works great.

Love my 7000SLX. I have a small 2 car garage with 9’3” ceiling height. It works perfect for my needs. I will be prepping for my upcoming track weekend this weekend, oil change, brake pad change and wheel/tire swap. Takes maybe 5 minutes to get setup to lift the vehicle. Much easier than jack stands, in my opinion. If you don’t have room and height for a 2 or 4 post lift, this is a very good setup over jack stands.

My 7000 unit was backordered from Quickjack. I ordered it June 6 and didn't get it until Sept 6.

I watched a few videos of assembly on you tube done by competent assemblers. One video the guy did exactly what they tell you NOT TO................raise the lift the whole way with no load on it. Another moron took the attached small air tanks OFF to take to his dads to fill with 50 lbs air.

So do yourself a favor, if you get one, screen the videos. Cleanliness is next to godliness when it comes to assembling the unit as far as keeping dirt and debris out of the lines and tank.

Mine happily lifted my Chevy Uplander and will someday see duty lifting a full framed new Dodge Durango which will test it better.

A you tube video showed a 5000 unit lifting and supporting 11000 lbs trying to get it to fail.

I bought the unit for my four cars including the GS. I wanted too much capability with 7000 rather than not enough so that was my choice.

Good luck.

Oh by the way check ALL the connections etc since I foudn all my electrical cords going in to the main control box were not secured. Just a simple tightening but still...........wonder how they missed that in the Quality check.

I have 7000EXT, need the 7000 for the 7000lb Silverado LTZ and the EXT for my Wife's Lexus (jacking points far away from each other). I used it already on the Silverado and the Lexus. Corvettes go on them soon to install ceramic brake pads.

Very Happy with them.

If you have enough room below your garage door why not go with a mid rise scissors jack. They raise 4 ft off the ground and get the car high enough that you can sit on a roll around seat and work on the bottom of the car in the front and rear as well as doing suspension work from the side. The lift can lie on the floor so you can park over it.

A little more useful than a quick jack not as portable but is movable.

The extra height on scissor jacks is nice, but they can get in the way at times with the pad or crossbars blocking exhaust and trans work.

The thread mentioned above is the authoritative source of info for the Quick Jack on this forum. The only thing I will add is that when I bought mine, I was debating whether to get the 5000 or the 7000. I got the 7000 and am happy with it. I got the 7000 because I wanted to be able to use it for my SUV too. But after the fact, I see all the people heavily overloading the 5000 without issues. The 7000 it is SUPER HEAVY! Not sure if the 5000 would be much lighter for me to shelp around. The 5000 might have been a better choice for a weakling like me if it was lighter.

Either way, if you want to use it on a truck, make sure you get the SUV and Light Truck Adapters. They are expensive, but I could not use the quick jack on my SUV without them. They used to give you the SUV and Light Truck Adapters for free with the 7000, but not anymore.

Another great thing is that the 7000 will fit under a parked Vette - no problemo!

I have the 7000 lb model as well, works great on my 2016 Z06, also works great on my Ford Explorer. The previous poster did note the 7000lb unit is pretty heavy, so if the 5000 will do the job, I would get it, it is about 20lbs lighter. I would find out the weight of the other cars you are going to lift to see if the 5000 will do the job, like my Explorer is 4500lbs. When I got my 7000lb lift, it came with the Light Truck adapters.

I have the 5000. I've used it for everything I've done to my C7, tranny fluid changes, aero kit installs, headers, mufflers, x-pipe, sway bars, AMT camber kit install and with the use of race stand blocks, alignments. I'd love a lift, but I've not found much I can't tackle with the quick jack.

True, but that is rarely a concern. I had my scissors jack for 10 years and never had an exhaust issue I couldn't work on and the only thing that it prevented me doing was removing the transmission. I could easily change the trans fluids. I couldn't get to the center exhaust pipes that ran from the engine back to the muffler pipes and I couldn't do anything with the drive shaft in the tunnel. Not really a deal breaker.

When I moved 4 years ago I sold the scissors lift and went with a Max Jax and still haven't had any need to reach the center of the two vehicles I put on the lift even though it is accessible.

I sometimes regret going with the MaxJax because I can't get two cars into the garage at the same time when I have the lift posts installed. With the scissors lift I just drove over the lift and didn't have to worry about storing the posts or not being able to get two cars in the garage at the same time.

I really contemplated going with the MaxJax. But at the time I parked 2 cars in the garage and had to pull 1 in nose first and back the other in, with minimal space between. Now that I got rid of 1 car I could probably keep the MaxJax installed and park the Z06 but already have the QuickJack and it works good for me. Would like the extra height of the MaxJax, but the last variable is concrete pad thickness......newer home they cheap out on everything, so who knows if my pad would be thick enough without drilling some holes to check.

Anyway, got the Z06 up on the QuickJack right now prepping for next weekends track days. Oil change and pad change. Works great for what I need.

I got my 7000 from the first or second batch they made and I love it. Works great in my low ceiling single car garage for the Vette and Toyota Tacoma (with the truck/SUV spacers). Can't live without this thing! I'd refer you to the mega thread with all the pictures but Photobucket broke it big time.

Question for those with C7 Z06 with stage 3 aero. I am looking at buying a QJ 5000 and wanted to be able to park over it. I am also lowered front and rear about 1/2" from stock.

Measuring the front splitter, side rocker skirts, and rear bumper (near rear wheels on both sides); from the floor to each piece measurements are:

Splitter - 4" at center and 4.5" at side winglets
Skirts - 4.25" front (near front wheels) and 5.25" rear (near rear wheels)
Rear bumper - 7.5" (closest section to rear wheels)

Can someone tell me if I could push them in and drive over them?

I have the poverty splitter installed with the 7000, but I back over it because my garage and driveway is so small and tight. I don't have side skirts but you won't be driving over the side skirts when you park over it. My car is stock height. I cover mine with a tarp in case water drips off the car so it won't get on the QuickJack. As long as you can use the pucks with your side skirts you should be fine. The 7000 weighs more than the 5000, and is a bit much to shelp around.
