This is the 6th model year that I am posting an Excel spreadsheet that will let you figure out what your new car will set you back. It has many of the same features that I had last time I posted this form. You can download the spreadsheet below. If you need help you can PM me. Anyone who finds any errors can let me know and I will fix and update the spreadsheet and this page. It would be a good idea to subscribe to this thread just in case there are any changes and this way you will be notified.

Note:

This spreadsheet uses the Excel .xlsx format which started in Excel 2007. You will not be able to use this sheet on previous versions of Excel. It is used because of the amount of options/iterations that are available that could not be accommodated in older versions of Excel.

BTW I cannot guarantee that this file will work on a Mac or PC’s with OS’s other than “Windows®7” or later.

There seems to be some differences between the Order Guide and the Chevrolet web site. If you see a conflict that you know is correct please PM me and I’ll correct the sheet. You will also find that there are some minor options like “Smokers Package”, individual luggage items, custom license plate brackets, etc. that are not included in the spreadsheet.

For most selections in column "H" you can select an item by putting an "x" in the column. In some cases you can select it but if the option is not available or the item is “Included in Package” the pricing won't show up (unless it is waiting for the balance of a package to be selected). When selecting a model and trim package you will have to go to the seating chart area and select your seating color and seat type before you see AQ9 GT Buckets or AE4 Competition Seat come up with "Standard" with no additional cost or “Opt’l Pkg Selected” at an additional cost.

For those interested there is an amortization or loan calculator included on sheet 2. It is reasonably accurate but it will give you a good idea of your monthly payments if you so choose.

If you are not familiar with Excel or this spreadsheet please read the following:

In column H you will see a Yellow ribbon running from cell H2 to cell H314. To start select the model of the car you want to price out by putting an "x" in column H next to the model. Next select the trim 1LT, 1LZ, 2LT, 2LZ or 3LT, 3LZ by using the same "x" process. Once you select the trim level some of the yellow column items will automatically have x's in them to indicate that the option or feature is included in your vehicle selection. In the Yellow column continue putting x’s next to the options that you want. Keep in mind you must select a model and trim before you will see the seating options.

Once you have selected all your options you can now proceed to the bottom of the page. Column “D” is where you will be working. Cell D317 will give you the MSRP for the vehicle. If you have a trade in cell D318 is the place to put it. At this point in cell D319 you can put in any number you want to indicate the discount you think is fair and reasonable . Cell D320 is where you can show any dealer or GM incentives. You can figure sales tax if you like (you need to change the percentage in column C cell 322) by putting in the percentage for your state. You can then enter Motor Vehicle charges if any in cell D323.

At this point you need to compare column “D” with Column “F” which represents what is referred to as Dealer Invoice and see where your number is with and without trades and adjusted discounts you are looking for. Column “G” represents something closer to true cost.

Some people say that you can do this online. That may be true but you can do so much more that I think you will find this tool worthwhile.

Please remember you can only work in the Yellow and Green cells except as noted above (and yes some of the yellow cells are no longer available as they will be selected automatically when you select your trim) you cannot click on any other cells.

This spreadsheet will be added to as new pricing becomes available.

What is the difference between dealer cost versus invoice?

 

Thanks to the OP for keeping this available. This is a significant piece of work and effort. I used the then current version three years ago to order my '15 and it was dead-nuts accurate, including the discount.

 

Invoice is what we are used to seeing on the web and a dealer would in most cases be glad to sell you a vehicle at invoice. There is another pricing structure which is closer to what the dealer actually pays and you would want to negotiate closer to that number.

There are other dealer incentives I'm sure but most people are happy to get close to the latter number.

Yes that helps. I always thought dealer invoice was their cost from GM & MSRP was what they were trying to sell the car for.

One question. The pricing was fine for the grand sport and 2lt, but then would not add anything after that for any options I picked?
Am I doing something wrong?

So my understanding is you selected the GS 2LT, did you then go down the yellow column (column H) and put x's in that column where the wording "Available" is located in column "I". Keep in mind that only column H can be used and then at the bottom of the sheet only the green cells.

I noticed this evening when looking at a post from Mike Furman and comparing it to my spreadsheet that there is was a minor error. If you selected NPP on a base Stingray it would also add the MSRP only for J6A black painted calipers. It was a typo and only happens with that option. I have uploaded a corrected version for all those who subscribe to this thread you can download the corrected version if you so choose.

The only thing I couldn't add was two tone seats. Other than that good to go.
