Edelbrock Supercharger
Has anyone installed this supercharger on their car? I purchased a 2017 GS which I am quite happy with and optioned were I could have easily bought a Z06, but the numerous reports of overheating dissuaded me from the option. While at the Carlisle Corvette show this last summer, I had the chance to talk with the people at Edelbrock and they seem to believe that the overheating was caused by the design of the OEM supercharger and that theirs does not cause this problem. Something about the number of vanes and how they are made. I understand that the kit comes in 3 stages and the only differences are in the pulleys and tuning options, the supercharger itself is the same. Since I am most likely to be using the car solely for the street, Stage 1 would be the best fit, and with 626 HP, it will be more than enough. So the question is if anyone here installed one of these and what has your experience been with the product. Look forward to your responses. Thank you.

I have the stage 2, 670hp Edelbrock E Force. No over heating issues. Runs like a raped ape. The stage 1 is a 3 1/2" pulley, stage 2 is a 3 1/4" pulley and the stage 3 is a 2 3/4" pulley. Other then that the same setup, with different tunes. You would have to up grade the fuel system for the stage 3.

I installed one on my 2014 Z51. After I installed it, I noticed that the front of the fuel rail covers were rubbing on the hood liner. I called Edelbrock and found out that as I had an early VIN (1500) my install did not have a modification to the hood liner. They sent me some parts to fix the hood liner problem. The front of the covers still rubbed on the hood liner. So, I used a Dremel tool to grind down the covers and used torch red touchup paint to cover the ground spots.
The supercharger made the much car harder to drive than the Z06 I traded it in for in that the throttle was very sensitive. It wanted to go all out at the slightest touch. So, I decided to move to the Z06 which is far better. I assume some tuning of the ECM would have corrected the problem. Just be sure you use a good installer. And, I assume Edelbrock has corrected the rubbing on the hood liner.

*** I'm using the Edelbrock stage 2 93 octane tune. They originally sent me the 91 octane tune.

I have an early production 2014 a6 with stage one on a canned tune purchased it from the dealer . Previous owner installed it at 10k car has 20,221 on it now . I drove it back from PA to SC(600mile trip ) no overheating at all temp stayed at normal driving levels. Car is wild when the blower kicks in puts my buddies 2017 a8 to shame !
for some reason...the lettering for the "Supercharged " is backwards I thought it came shipped in a kit already with the stickers on it from edelbrock.

I've had mine for almost a year and am very happy with it. It really does drive like stock until you want the power. The blower is nearly silent which I really like.

Thanks for all the great responses and it seems that the unit is as advertised. Now up the learning curve we go. I believe the Stage 1 kit is the one to get for what I am looking for, mainly a street car without sacrificing reliability or drivability. But still a bit fuzzy on the tuning kit Edelbrock supplies. It looks like a OBDII reader/programer and is advertised as "Plug and Play", but is it end user selectable? Specifically, as one of our forum members reported, his throttle response was way too sensitive. So how much range do I have (of things that are adjustable) in dialing in the tuning, or is it hard coded with no adjustments, and if so, how many versions does Edelbrock have and what are they? From all the vendors for this product that I have read, nothing was described as to the use of the tuner. Thanks again.

The tune isnt adjustable, i saw the one post that the guy had trouble handling all the power. I've never heard of anyone else with E Force/tune with the same issue.
If you did go with a custom dyno tune im sure it would void Edelbrocks warrenty.

Have you thought about giving Doug from ECS a call. He’s in/near Jackson which is only about an hour away from you. He’d probably have the answers to all your questions and could do the install as well as a custom tune for you.
