My Dad started me out on Corvettes with his heavily-optioned '66 convertible. His subsequent Corvettes kept it in the family blood. He had also designed a family crest which he had on all of them. When I got my first one in '06, I had the crest modified to have the family name - and under it "40th Anniversary Commemorative Edition". Thankfully, he lived just long enough too see that and have this picture taken...
And when I got my C7 I changed the crest again to "50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition". Long live the Corvette!

Like this. The original was done with the IBM template you used (in the 60's) to have to use to create a "computer program". If you look carefully you can see it on Dad's door...mine is in shadow.

I have a new lower back injury I didn't need but I walked away from being hit from the rear at approx. 50 mph while stopped in traffic so it's hard to really complain....pushed the car 5 feet even though I had my foot on the brake. The Corvette people designed a strong car.

Update here: It turns out that there was $15k in cosmetic damage done but NO structural damage, so the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition lives on...

Great story about you and your Dad sharing the Corvette tradition. Those are memories and experiences you never forget and will always cherish. Thanks for sharing.
My Dad and I got the Corvette bug at about the same time in 2000ish. I bought a used 1990 C4 with 12k on it in 2000 and in 2001 my Dad bought a 1993 C4. In 2004 my Dad ordered a 2005 C6 and in 2008 I ordered a 2009 C6 and in 2014 he bought a C7 Premier Edition and then passed away in 2015, I then sold my C6 and kept his C7. I keep a picture of him in the car at all times so he rides shotgun with me st all times.
My aviator is the car in his driveway in NH.

he owns a few vehicles to daily and race; among them is a '91 240SXwith an LS/Tremec swap so I kinda got him, sort of, a little (well, not really, his others are a '91 MR2 turboed and scary and his daily is a Subaru STi)
