So I ordered a set for the front and back from ACS for my Stingray Z51, the backs are perfect but I found the fronts to be a littler overpowering, they seem to be very wide and just look out of proportion.
Yes, the GM's splash guards are narrower than ACS, but you'll lose the protection from the added width. I have the GM's version, and they're useless on the wide body C7s, but many have reported positive results for the Stingray.
Here are my front and rear OEM splash guards. As mentioned above, less protection, however my car is wrapped with Xpel so I don’t mind. I do agree with you though that as much as I love ACS products, their splash guards look like they belong on a Subaru rally car, but indeed protect more.

Are the GM fronts a little more norrow then ACS?
Yep they are like the GM rear. In fact, ACS sells the GM Splash Guards for the rear, it's not their design!
As soon as I got my 2014 C7 Z51 I installed the GM Splash Guards. They were of little help in stopping pebbles from hitting the rockers. Rears were fine but those fenders tuck in and are short. GM added that heavy plastic where they knew the problem was on the "Coke Bottle" shape Vette, from the center of the door back to in front of the rear wheel.
My plastic was getting marked from the pebbles on many of our rural roads. Installed LG Motorsports side skirts. All marking stopped. In fact as able to remove the marked up, discolored GM plastic! When I sold the car 5 months ago, it looked new!
I ordered my Grand Sport with full length side skirts and from Forum posts ordered the ACS front Splash Guards. If you have a wide body they look fine with Spats. I also added Stage 3 winglets that, IMO, integrate the Spats better a well.

Hmm..4k Chip Free Miles on my GS with Stage 1 Skirts. With ZERO PPF Film.Skirts are huge on protection
The clips I was referring to are the plastic ones on the facia top, under the hoodline. They have openings to stick a pry tool or screw driver in. But yes, in order to pull the facia, unbolt everything first, then start on the hoodline by the headlights and gently pull up. (You obviously need some force but I say gently because I know a guy who spidered his paint by using his superhuman strength). If it feels too hard to pull up, stop and look. You probably missed a bolt.

Yes, the GM guards are smaller. But, my experience with them is they will help keep crap off the door panels, but still let small projectiles reach the front of the rear wheel well opening. So I broke down, and bought side skirts also. It's the nature of the beast.
