This is a wrap and not even close to Sebring Orange Metallic.

Yes, my wrap which matches more or less BMW Fire Orange with 3M wrap material. This is my ideal orange, I’m hopeful the new Sebring Orange is close- real paint is much better than any wrap. I have a new 2018 GT3 on order in PTS Pastel Orange which also is close to this color.
You can probably get any color combination you want if you order it with the D30 color override option.

This is what I was hoping for as well, a non-metallic orange, like Black, AW, TR, or VY. While I've owned many metallic colors, I've developed a new fondness again for solid colors w/o metal flakes.
I most likely would have ordered a new one in this color.
I'd call that OSO (old school orange).
Design trends seems to waffle back and forth over the years, I wouldn't be surprised to see non-metallics coming back into strong favor down the road, just like I expect to see a shift from black wheels on the horizon.

I think black wheels are still on a rising curve. You're right at some point the pendulum will swing to something else. I see more and more manufacturers offering them, and they're now invading the SAV/SUV world.
I used to hate black wheels and would only choose silver-painted or polished aluminum wheels (never chrome), but black grew on me, such that I now love them. My tastes do change, and variety is the spice of life.

Other than an announcement that this is s new color for 2018 there are no photos of a corvette with this color that I could find. Any impressions or comments on this new color would be appreciated as I am considering to place an order for a 2018 GS in this new color..
This is not what Sebring Orange looks like at all in natural light. That was taken with a camera flash, which produces a very artificial tint that close up.
