Issues with Infotainment System MP3 - USB
For the first couple of months this is how it worked: I would call out the playlist by name (for example "play Bruce Springsteen") and it would begin playing at track 1.
About a month ago the system started working in the following manner: I call out the playlist by name, only now it repeats the name of the PL, and asks me if that is the one I want. I say yes, and then it asks what track I want to start on.
Also, if the playlist is made up off songs from various ALBUMS it will show them to me on screen, and ask me to select which entry I want to play.
Is it possible that there has been a software change that was done without informing me? Not sure if they can push software updates over wi-fi, but it never hurts to ask.
One other thing that has been a glitch since I bought the car. There are few playlist that I play with the shuffle option. Well, shuffle now comes on whenever it wants to. As I switch through various playlists, shuffle may or may not come on automatically.
I know these are small issues, but can be aggravating none the less. I am hoping someone out there can help me out. Thanks!
Steve
Have you had your car into GM for service in the suspect timeframe where they might have pushed an update while the car was hooked up?
Not one of my best helpful posts, sorry.
Edit:. What year do you have? My 2014 started doing weird things when the battery began to fail. Settings would change among other inconveniences.

Say you call out a playlist (for example Tom Petty) if the songs came from different albums the infotainment center will ask if you want to play from the album(s) or the playlist. It only gives you a couple of seconds to decide.
I have the playlists on my iPod set up in the order I want them played therefore I always want the playlist.
The correct command is "play playlist Tom Petty". Yes it does ask if that is correct, and then it starts playing at the first song on the list.
Thanks for your response guys, and I apologize for wasting your time...
Steve
