Default Suede/microfiber?

Thinking about ordering a 18 the first of the year.
I like the two tone seats/grey interior.
Standard is grey where your "seat" is and black on the outer part.
Suede/micro fiber reverses it and I like the idea of black wearing better where you actually sit.
I like the two tone look either way.
Comments on suede comfort/wear/look/feel etc?
The wheel then gets the suede treatment as well. Forget if I heard a few complaints about the wheel?
Appreciate any comments.
Thanks.

I have a 2011 CTS-V wagon. The center of the Recaro seats, shifter and steering wheel are (synthetic) suede. They have worn very well, but the wheel and shifter tend to mat up, and become less "fuzzy" over time. You can wash it and bring the nap back up, but it is somewhat time consuming and messy. My C7 wheel is leather, and I think I prefer it.

YMMV...

Here are some pics. I like the look & my Z has 16K miles so it has been driven & seats have worn well.

The suede helps hold your butt in the seat during spirited driving.... the full leather on my C5...(side bolster height aside), did have a bit of sliding across the seat on hard corners....not so in the 7. I stay put.

As per the steering wheel, I've had both the leather and the suede. I much prefer the leather one. I ordered the competition seats in my '17 GS and it forced the suede wheel and shifter boot. Stupid. Back to leather all the way around on my '18.

The MF on the seat inserts is not the same fabric as the trim pieces, and The trim doesn't wear as well. As DanZR1 says, it tends to matte down on areas that have flesh contact (hands, elbows). Get a spot on the seat inserts, and it wipes up easily with no marking from water, but it is not as easy to clean the other MF portions.

I have the black (ebony) upper trim in MF as well, and it is showing fading from the sun (especially noticeable on the visor backs). It has turned a sort of brownish color (compared to new), so I am grateful I got the brownstone interior. It isn't as glaring that it is faded as it would be with any other color combo.

Even at 77,000 miles, the leather portion of both the seats and the trim still looks new. Very impressive.

Our 2017 2LT came with the optional suede on:
Seats (excellent)
Sun visors (who cares?)
A8 gear selector (who cares?)
Steering wheel (dumb, feels like I'm fondling a small rodent as I drive)

If I find someone local who really wants my suede steering wheel, I might be willing to trade.

My 17 3LZ is only 2 months old and I do like the microfiber on the seats but do have concerns about the wheel. Given some of the comments it will probably be and issue.
