Good for you. The car might be different, the prospect of having a 10 speed auto would in my opinion make it well worthwhile to what a sort time more for delivery. In any case you can be certain that a few quirks in the 2018 will be addressed in the 2019 not to mention a better paint job. All worth waiting for.

Nope, I have a Grand Cherokee for that stuff.
I don't doubt it.
Sounds like a good idea...
if you're going to be doing a steady highway speed for hours at the time, why wouldn't you use the cruise control? It'll get very tiresome on your feet not doing so.

I'm a "life is too short" person. I'm willing to accept something that is not exactly perfect because my preferences are flexible and subject to change over time. If it's good enough and pleases me, I'm happy, because I get to live in the moment.
I didn't find the exact color I was looking for, but it grew on me very quickly. I don't think in terms of resale value, or what if next year's model has the new flux capacitor. That makes no sense to me.
Others wait their lives away for something they never seem to be able to find because it's not quite the right thing in the moment, or something better will come along soon, or there's always a better deal somewhere, so they wait and search, wait and search, then they die. I always find that sad.

I got a 2017 in December, the car is great, all of this is white noise.
Unfathomable on GM's part white noise, but ultimately all I can do is reach for another face palm (what with what I'm seeing on the TV news each night, I'm running out of those), shake my head, take a deep breath and wonder if it was the right decision to quit drinking 21 years ago.

Disagree wholeheartedly! Do you take long highway trips in your Vette ever? I've done a few and if you're going to be doing a steady highway speed for hours at the time, why wouldn't you use the cruise control? It'll get very tiresome on your feet not doing so.
Last December my wife and I took the kids to Florida and we rented a minivan for the trip. In total, I drove about 50-60 hours on that trip (there and back) There is absolutely no way I could have done that trip comfortably without cruise control. I will be making that exact same trip every winter with my C7 (starting in 2022) and I will most definitely use the CC on that journey. Using CC in a Corvette makes it no less of a sportscar as having an automatic transmission does. Just because you let the computer do some of the work doesn't mean the car is as boring as a Corolla.

Especially when on a road trip where I don't know where the LEO's hang out with their radar.
In Christian County, MO, just south of me, 20 over the posted limit will automatically get you 48 hours in jail until you can bail out. They get a lot of tourist that think they can do 80-85 while going to Branson, MO.
10 over will get you a substantial fine, but no jail time.

I use the cruise control all the time on the highways in AZ. Hardly any traffic. And you can drive up to 9 miles an hour over the posted limit without getting a citation in this part of the country. Ask me how I know? I am, shall we say, acquainted with with a few people who monitor our highways around here.

This brings up a good point. Two new owners buy a Corvette Grand Sport the same day, from the same dealership. Both are equal in terms of trim, level, etc. One is a 2018 and one is a 2019, built within one month of each other.
Six months later, both owners are involved in accidents totaling the cars. If they have the same insurance company and policy type, mileage, etc. what is the difference in compensation assuming neither owner has full replacement coverage. Just coverage based on Blue Book value?

Truth be told in TX you get a choice between the shovel or a Viking's funeral....
