Everyone talking about a ME Vette, but are their those that like a FE Vette BETTER?

Dave, I'd NEVER own a Mustang.....give me a Lamborghini and I'll be happy (preferably an Aventador SV or an S).
Saying you'd own a Mustang is like a Lamborghini owner saying he'd slum it and own a Ferrari instead........you can't have it both ways.

Dave, I anticipate the evolution of the mustang gt convertible and the camaro ss and ZL1 convertibles will evolve closer to what an Aston Martin looks like.
I'm already beginning to see the mustang gt convertible and coupe evolving into a similiar silloute and it's really becoming of the American pony cars...
So moving to either of those two products is not a bad thing.
I believe the corvette will need to evolve to a rear mid engine platform to maintain its track performance edge.
The front engine even a mid engine version has reached the pinnacle of performance with the c7 grand sport and z06.
The sixth gen camaro is that good a track vehicle.
I'm excited to see the corvette finalize its forty year journey to become a mid rear engine sports car even as great as your c7 wide body is.

The wife's a Ford girl. Her current car is a 2010 Mustang Shelby GT500 SVT vert. While I prefer driving my C7, hers is no slouch and nothing to laugh at. I'm not the least bit embarrassed driving it.

I find that a bit unbelievable too! I took my 16 year old son to downtown Toronto this afternoon so he could take some cool photos of Graffiti Alley and we saw a new Lamborghini Huracan convertible, wrapped in matte black and both of our jaws just dropped and we stopped in our tracks! A few minutes later we saw a sweet white C7 Z06 and it also caused us to stop in our tracks but in all honesty, the Lambo got our hearts racing just a little bit more! I love Corvettes for their super cool exotic looks at an affordable price, their relability, and the ability to drive them on long trips with ease, but there is just something extra super cool about a new Lamborghini! If I were lucky enough to win the lotto, there would definitely be a new Lambo in my garage (but rest assured I would still have a new Corvette too!) We also saw two McLarens today, and can't imagine any car lover not wanting one of those sweet beasts!

I don't think you hurt anyone's feelings.

16 Vettes and counting…..
I think that generally, FE cars have a more aesthetically pleasing layout. Just look at the new Aston Martin DB11 Volante.....probably the most beautiful car I've ever seen. There are plenty of ME cars that look great, but there are also some that look like ***.
My buddy has an Alfa 4C. Looks like a frog...and unless you're about 5' 8", you won't fit. I also think the R8 looks terrible. But then there are the Lambos and Ferraris....just stunning. So the ME layout may be easier to screw up design-wise, but when it looks good, it REALLY looks good.
I've never owned a ME car, and I've only driven a handful. There seem to be many advantages in performance and handling, so I'm looking forward to the change. As much as I love my C7, my eyes have been wandering towards a bucket list vehicle while I'm still young enough to enjoy it. It's a short list and I'm not sure the ME Corvette will make it, but it is giving me reason to hold off for a while.

Safety Car
For my driving, what I would call spirited but not tracking, I doubt I would notice any performance differences. The purchase decision for me might be on more mundane points, such as . . .
1. How does it look as a convertible?
2. Is there additional engine noise in the cab?
3. Cost is also a factor?
If by any chance it's a Cadillac, I hope they don't design it with a strait edge . . .

Corvette is already 50/50 weight distribution. One would think taking 500 lbs or so out of the nose of the car would cause it to be out of balance.
But I don't think the ME will be a Vette at all. GM would probably like a ME car so they can base their race team on it which means Corvette Racing might be a think in the past.
All guesses and speculation right now though. All I know is that if the 19 has the A10, I will wait to buy a 19 and not consider an A8 equipped C7.

Melting Slicks
I’d miss all the rear trunk space. I put all my track gear back there. The rear end of the C7 gets very light under hard braking on track. I’d bet a ME improves that aspect of handling.

I like the look of the mid engine car but it will be small inside. The C7 seats hurt my left leg I like taking trips about 1000 miles or so my leg kills me. Luggage space is fair in C7 I image the mid car will be a lot less. Mid car will be for the look at me crowd or racers. Rip my seats out of c7 if I keep and put some 13 seats in with new upholstery to match.
