Default HorsePower Research - Introduction

New vendor and familiar names.

HorsePower Research might be a new name to a lot of people on here but the people behind it are not.

Erik Koenig, a name many of you have heard of and know from HKE engines in Houston has now partnered up with two others in DFW to start HPR. This will allow quicker build times, more new products, new designs, and an even better product to our customers. Erik's 20 years in engine design, building, and teaching have helped him do some of the best LS engines around. In the past couple years Erik has designed a 442 cid LS using a stock LS3 block, a 468 cid LS using a sleeved OEM block, and a 527 cid using a tall deck RHS or Dart engine block. Erik has also developed a number of custom designed pistons with Wiseco that are exclusive to him and HPR.

Anthony Forney, again a name you have heard on the forums before in the past with another performance shop. Anthony will be the main interface to the customer and dealer network as well as running the office and parts desk. Anthony's knowledge of vehicle dynamics and specific fitments will aid in the development of engine accessories and parts to complete your engine order and make sure that is operating safely and to the best of it's ability.

We very quietly opened the doors here in McKinney the start of 2017 and have been pushing out LS and LT engines since we opened. We are currently taking orders for short blocks, long blocks and a number of accessories. Our Facebook page is up with a number of build pictures. The website is a work in progress and we try to add to it weekly.

If you have any questions feel free to email, call, or PM any time! Erik or I would be happy to answer any and all questions you might have.

Two of our in house engine designs shown below.

442 CID using stock LS3 block. Available short or long post. 24x or 58x wheel.

468 CID using sleeved std deck height aluminum Gen IV LS block. Available short or long post, 24x or 58x wheel.

I posted on another forum but it applies here, too: Welcome guys! Glad to also read about Anthony Forney. Read another thread with great review of engine work done by your shop. Good luck.
