I’m not sure if my transmission is slipping or not, but today my 2015 corvette threw a CEL Code P0700 twice. I cleared the coded twice using the Torque app but I’m afraid it might come back if I continue to drive it.
Has anybody experienced this or know anybody that does?
No experience with code P0700 but I would take the car in to get it diagnosed. Your power train warranty will cover this.
Had a CEL light (don't remember the number) on my previous C6 that would come and go. Then finally when it came back, the transmission was stuck in 4th gear.(A6).
Off to the dealer and they replaced a sensor switch and all is well.
My take is that once a code is thrown, it will come back to haunt you until you get it fixed.
"What the P0700 code means. P0700 is set when the PCM detects a malfunction in the transmission control system. This malfunction causes the vehicle to set a Check Engine Light and trigger a failsafe mode. Once the failsafe mode is set it will remain until the fault is repaired or normal operation is detected"
As mentioned by c54u, looks like a trip to the dealer is in your future. Probably a faulty sensor but it will come back until it is replaced. Good luck.
There will be at least one more OBD code to go along with the P0700. Your App may not see transmission codes, I don't know. These have been pretty uncommon in the C7 but very common with the C6 A6 trans. The second code was usually associated with a bad internal mode switch. As said above, Dealer time.
