Came home this evening uneventfully. I’m the midst of giving my toddler a bath, got an email from OnStar saying my driver side rear tire was flat. Walk out to the garage and found this 😡
Oh well, off to the tire shop in the morning for a patch job. What a bummer.
Not to worry . . . you're good in the center section and thickest part of the tire. It will be good as new, when properly plug-patched from the inside.

Agreed. I was relieved to see it was where it was. I immediately cursed myself for declining the tire protection package when I had them installed though 😂
I had that happen to my C6. I plugged it myself and had no problems for 14K miles after that.
Also look at Patchboy website. Check out the mushroom plugs. I take this kit and a small compressor with me on trips, no matter which vehicle I'm driving.

FWIW, not too late! Bought tire protection for my Grand Sport when I got it, from Discount Tire. Drove my car over, they checked the tire sizes, plugged info in the computer and for $250 I got a repair or replace warranty! Don't think they care about miles on the tires as a new tire replacement is based on tread wear.
The large Firestone shop I have been going to wanted ~$340 for the same warranty. Discount Tire is new in town, checked out their equipment and there was a $40 discount coupon when I bought.
Had that nail been near the sidewall in my rear tire would have saved ~$500!
