Default Sueded Seat Inserts - Your Experiences

Hello all. I am looking at a new C7 that has black sueded seat inserts, steering wheel and shift ****. I have heard a few comments on the steering wheel but nothing on the seats themselves. If anyone has this option please share your thoughts good or bad. Thanks...

I like mine. They certainly hold you in place, as in, you don't slide around in them as easy as you sometimes do in an all leather seat.

After one year and 4600 miles, I’m very happy with mine. Great feeling with no signs of wear. I would definitely buy the same interior again. Nothing bad to say about it.

Love the seats. Had no interest in the steering wheel and shifter ****. But, they came as a package on 2LT with competition seats.
I immediately replaced the wheel and ****. It all matches now. Seats are still as good as new after 36K miles. Enjoy...

I got the sueded seats on my 2014. Three years later, still looking and feeling great...

The seat inserts are a different material than the rest of "sueded" trim. My seat inserts look brand new compared to the other trim. The inserts are easy to clean, and their nap always looks great.

I wish they had used this on the other suede areas.

And most importantly to me they are much cooler than the leather when it is summer and the top is off or down. I have a convertible so not having leather seats in the summer keeps me from sweating due to the hot leather.

Thanks for the replies. I thought they would help to keep you in place but I was concerned about wear, discoloration and them being hot. I'm glad to hear they are cooler. I'm curious about what issues you have with the steering wheel.

I have the 2LZ (2016 Z06) with comp seats and suede inserts and initially I didn't like the look of the suede steering wheel but I have come to really like it. Like the seat inserts it provides great grip and unlike leather the wheel never feels cold or hot.

I think you will really like the suede seat inserts and the seat ventilation feature also seems to work better with suede compared to perforated leather.

I had the suede seat inserts on my 2014, and absolutely wanted them on my 2018. As a plus they come with the suede steering wheel and carbon fiber insert on the lower wheel. I got used to the suede steering wheel on my CTS and the grip is so much better in warm, or, cold weather [CTS].

Had sueded seats, steering wheel and shifter **** in my ZL1. I REALLY miss them in my all leather Z51. They have a great "feel" to them - it's all personal preference, but I like the feel of the suede in my hands better than the leather - softer, very pleasant.

Cleaning is a breeze. Get a $4 suede & nubuck brush from CVS, and it'll brush out any matting that you experience - no chemicals, just that little brush.

Great input, thank you all. It has helped me to make my decision.

I was active on the corvette forum in the early 2000's when I had my last corvette. Over the years i was taken up with Porsche, Ferrari and Audi brands. I'm now back supporting American muscle. In all honesty they are a bit less refined but every bit as exciting. Again I appreciate all the comments.

Our 2017 Z51 has the touring seats with the suede inserts, only 6k miles so far but they look and feel great. Less sliding, less sweating.

OTOH, the suede shifter & boot (A8) simply look silly to me.
The suede steering wheel feels goofy and feels more slippery at 6k miles than our C6 leather did at 30k. I still toy with the idea of getting a round leather wheel, like from an earlier C7
