Sounds like there could be hope! Would love to buy both this and the DSC controller. Still not 100% sure that they will be seamless mods with my 17 grand sport.

You got me bud. I just didn't want to take the chance that she was wrong.

Which version is this? I thought 8.4 was last version.

Still like to know if these CELs get stored.

I think I will go to Autozone and borrow one of their code readers which can also be used to clear CELs.

I wonder if Onstar knows you're using the Range?

I don't know if Onstar knows about the Range device. But when I had the Valentine Savvy unit plugged into my OBD port (see post #31) which should be less intrusive, it also prevented Onstar from reading/transmitting the normal monthly diagnostic report.

Some people claim the car will retain some history about the Range being plugged in, and GM could use/interpret that as a kind of tune and deny warranty coverage. I have no personal knowledge either way.

Can anyone confirm if the CELs are retained? If I have AutoZone read my car's OBD will they show up if they are stored? Any update on V8.6? Thanks.

California is the type of state that would mandate a catalytic convertor in your underwear.

Tom, are you using a switch? If not, do you leave the Range plugged in all the time? Thanks.

Most of those Ebay sellers are automotive stores/vendors.
They're buying the Range units from Range, at wholesale, like any Vendor buying parts from a manufacturer to sell retail.
Some of those sellers have sold Hundreds of them.

You might have been told they're not Authorized because they don't/can't offer the same Support or updates, return policy.
Or whatever

I actually bought one on Ebay in 2015 from Cultrag Performance, aka Gene Culley GM Parts.
Their Ebay Store has a long list of GM parts

I just leave it plugged in (no switch). I drive the car several times a week. So far no battery drain issues.

That's good news. Considering that my car is "put to bed" for the winter now, it sounds promising that I'll buy another one in the spring.
