Took my car in for an intermittent check engine light and whining sound from front of engine. So far they say the check engine light was a faulty transmission temperature sensor and are replacing the transmission wiring harness. Still waiting to hear about the whining sound, suspect idler pulley bearing or water pump. We will see if the harness was the problem when I get it back. 7 days left on warranty.
Picked up my car from the dealer and they replaced the internal transmission wiring harness and transmission fluid. The whining noise was the idler pulley.
Transmission seems to hold constant RPM down the highway now and engine compartment is back to regular sound. Almost makes me want to purchase extended warranty. I have a 2015 so transmission is 100k warranty so I will take the gamble.
