I have purchased a Z51 OEM spoiler and want to install it without drilling holes on my base Stingray. I was thinking I could remove the spoiler screws, clean it really good, use adhesion promoter and apply RM45 3M adhesive tape. This stuff is REALLY strong - not just ordinary stuff - this is industrial stuff. I have used it in several projects without fail in outdoor situations other people have expected failure - it has yet to fail years later and is just as strong as when it was a week after install. Any ideas?
I would still prefer metal fasteners...
Why risk it coming loose if you are never going to remove it anyway?
If the tape is as good as you say, then if you ever did have to remove it, it may be easier to remove with fasteners and do less damage in the process.
If you ever want to remove it, fishing lines will remove it and it's a lot easier to get some tape residue off than to fill holes. It's never going to go anywhere unless you want it to... But it sounds like you already know that!
I got the factory spoiler and cut off the mounting bolts, ground them flat and cleaned/prepped the bottom side. I used adhesion promoter on the spoiler and on the painted surface of the car - stuck the spoiler on with RP45 double sided tape and put some pressure on it for a while. It is rock solid.

Excellent... And certain to upset the drillers and bolters who are certain it'll blow off the deck lid at speed.
