Default Comp seats?

What is your opinion on the seats? I have sat in the comp seats and they are not as comfy as the standard ones. I wonder if you can get those with the Sebring package? Suggestions from anyone who bought a z06 with comp seats. Can you get used to them? Thanks fellas

I am 5ft 8 tall and weight 165 so I am not a big guy, even in my comp seat ('17 GS) I crank the bolsters up to make me snug, so plenty of space, my brother has the regular seats ('17 ZO6) and I cannot find a difference of comfort, at least for the bottom.. hope that helps

I like the look of the comp seat best, but how is the comfort of the comp seat on a long?

OP asks a great question, and it is all dependent on our bodies. I have friends who drive their Comp Seats on 4 day, cross-country runs, and smile all the while.

Yet another friend and I who sat in them for different length test periods (agreed in advance not to share our thinking until the end), got out of them at five minute (LOVED them), swhitched cars for then 10 minutes (LOVED them), and then switched one last time for 20 minutes. As he got out after the last switch, he said, “I wish it were different, but my butt feel asleep — though I did save $2,000.

I had the identical butt, back of my lower thighs, going numb but only in the 20 minute test — probably because we are both long and lean. However, I also have long and lean friends who love their Comp Seats hour after hour.

All this leads us to my conclusion is that everyone considering them should sit in them for 20 minutes and insure that the Comp’s 20% stiffer foam cushioning (necessary for track work), works well for them.

I sure do like the Comp Seat’s better looking, upper CF butterfly treatment — wish it were transferable to my GT seats without the extensive seat conversations many have done. Maybe do that conversion just for the seat back?

Had them on my 2014. No issues with them, but in a 3LT car, you are paying for the looks.

Did not get them in my 2015 as both cars are 3LT’s and I realized why should I pay more for seats with a lesser quality leather than the standard GT’s in a 3LT trim...

I've had both. My 17 Z06 Vert had comp seats and its replacement 17 Z06 coupe has GT seats. I'm 6'0", about 210.

"My" first long non-stop drive in the vert was about 600 miles and the comps were great. I've since done the same trip in the coupe with the GT seats and while they were not uncomfortable they were not as comfortable as the comp seats.

Keep in mind, these were and are my impressions and your mileage may vary.

I've been waiting for a set of comp seats to become available so I can swap out the GT seats. I would love to find someone selling or trading their 3L? with Kalahari comp seats. That could be a win win for both of us.

ALL Comp seats are in the 2LT leather regardless of trim.

Only the GT seats have the Napa on a 3LT trim car

I agree that the only way to know if you will like them is to try them. I have them and they’re fantastic.

I ordered them in my 17 GS. I like them better than the GT seats in my 16, but not enough to get them in my 18 GS. They are nicer, but not $2500 nicer. Plus I don't care for the suede wheel.and shifter boot option that they force.

I think you'll find it largely depends on your body shape. Some find the GT seats more comfy and vice versa. I went to the dealer and sat in both extensivley before choosing.

This answer is different for every person. Only way to tell is to sit in them. I'm small-medium in stature, and I find the comp seats painful from old spinal injuries, while I get along great with the GT seats. I've heard others say exactly the opposite.

Drive in both - listen to your body.

Our Z51 had GT seats and our new Z06 has Comp seats. The wife and I actually prefer the Comp seats a lot better than the GT seats.

I have back issues and the GT seats didn't allow me to rest in the chair due to the high side bolsters. The Comp seat side bolsters do not go as high so I can rest in the chair. I am 5'8 and 175 lbs and my wife 5'4 and 105 lbs.

Seat comfort really is subjective I would strongly recommend doing a side by side comparison before making your final choice. That being said you can't argue that the Comp seats look good.

If you buy the comp seats and don't like them, you can swap either the upper pad and cover, or the lower pad and cover for the GT ones. The seats share the same frame. Not cheap to do, but at least you're not stuck with either seat if you don't like them.

I have the GT seats and am 6’-1” 185 lbs. I find the GT seats very comfortable as long as I do not inflate the side bolsters till I am in the seat. If I leave them inflated when I sit in the car I find that they hold my upper back away from the seat. I have not spent much time in the Comp seats so sorry no comparison to offer.

BTW on the Stingray with GT seats you do not get adjustable lumbar or side bolsters till the 2LT package.

Are competition seats actually necessary if you want to install a racing harness, or can a harness still be installed with GT seats?
