Clickbait article dashed off in a few minutes by someone with little knowledge of Corvette sales patterns or the auto sales market, I would guess. That the article doesn't even mention that we're well into the C7's model run or the rumored upcoming C8 particularly suggests this.
Hmm, no mention that the plant was down for several months for upgrade! Wonder if the writer had a clue or it was the typical article written for something negative to say to get a good headline!

I stopped reading when they couldn't even get the horsepower of the Z06 right (they claimed 630hp)
They couldn't get 1 fact correct about the Corvette. Haha! No idea of what he was talking about! Who is this BUFFOON from 24/7? He claimed the Corvette was going the way of the DODO bird!
Because a Z06 was 9k off?
Criticize all you want... but the purpose of the piece was to illustrate deep discounts on a car that isn't selling well.... yes, mistakes were make in the article, but don't throw out the baby with the bathwater....
I've been driving Corvettes for almost 28 years as daily drivers, have more than 700,000 miles in Corvettes.... I have zero illusions about our cars.

Joe Namath was right when asked if he majored in basket weaving. "Naw man, journalism, it was easier"
I'm glad I chose journalism as a profession. Worked and played and lived on five continents - 58 countries - and have been in all 50 states thanks to my "easy" choice of careers.
Graduated from easy universities too: Northwestern, Syracuse, and Texas A&M.

The records sales of all cars in 2016 has caused all new car sales to fall off not just the Corvette.

No one questioning that sales have slowed, the point is that the reasons for it are easily apparent and the article tries to insinuate that the only reason is because no one wants "that type of car" anymore, which is ludicrous.
