To those I see on the forum who have wanted a Corvette for years, or are looking for the perfect deal, or the cheapest possible ride: I just got news that a couple who are friends are both ill - she has stage 4 lung cancer, he has the onset of dementia. Neither is 75.
Get the car, and drive it. Life isn't waiting for you.
I second that. I remember the day I got my double cancer diagnosis at age 49, everything changed in a flash. Luckily I'm still here to enjoy my C7, as well as the more meaningful elements of life. If you have the means, why wait, life can turn on a dime...
I'm sorry to hear this. Life is too short and can be turned upside down in an instant. I dont spend recklessly but by some peoples standards I'm sure they think that I live above my means but I get what I want, do what I want to and try to live everyday to its fullest potential...
When my day comes I want to have as few regrets as possible

Peace,

Thats a big part of why I got the car now, instead of later. Father in law had been sick with congestive heart failure. We were talking about Vettes and he said he always wanted one but never did. Decided to sell my motorcycle and get the car. Because of distance and his illness, I had to rely on delivery of the car and it looked like it wouldn't arrive till after Thanksgiving. Father in law died a week ago and immediately a series of 'small miracles' happened and the last of those was a call from the dealership saying my car was being loaded on the truck at that moment. Car arrived 4 days later.
On top of that- Brother in law died of stage 4 lung cancer 2 days after father in law died. Last week was a rough one.

Sorry for your losses. Take care of your wife - that's got to be very difficult. Prayers.
I became aware of how short life is after 9/11. I'm a retired NYC Fire Lt and I lost a number of good close friends that day. I was lucky enough to not be on duty.
Since that day, I never put off anything that I want to do.
Bad things happen every day, don't put off something you want to do just to save a few bucks.
My friend and I had plans to retire and both buy Vettes. He retired in January 2009, got cancer and died in Sept. I bought my first Vette in November 2009. Just got my 17 GS in August. Don't wait too long.
