On my C7 GS the reverse camera guide lines as they appear on the screen are not centered. If I reverse into a spot it looks like the screen lines are equal distance from the parking spot white lines, but when I get out it’s way closer on one side than the other. I’ve come to not trust those lines. Anyone else have this issue? Is there a way of recalibrating the lines? Would rather avoid taking it back to the dealership as I won’t sleep for a week before and after the visit.
I don’t think the camera is in the exact center so don’t expect the lines to represent equal distances from one side to the other. Just as they are named, they are ‘guide’ lines not ‘centering’ lines.
If you look closely you will see it’s offset to the drivers side a little. Don’t bother with the dealership as the service manager where I go has had someone complain about this before. There is no adjustment and it’s not centered anyway so this is ‘by design’.
Every other car I’ve had has had the guide lines accurately represent the edges of both sides of the car and not offset. Makes the guidelines a little useless otherwise.
