I just read that GM is going to extend the C7 builds 2 more years 20 and 21 and they will build the Mid Engine at the same time.
Just speculation on what models C7 ZR1 Z06 only? Seems like they have got C7s everywhere that aren't sold. But hey it's GM
they know the business ...right?
It sure is, but I'm also certain the C8 will improve upon it, just like every generation usually does. Although I'm secretly hoping I dislike the C8 since I plan on hanging onto my C7 for a very long time.

If that's true then it confirms what I've been saying all along, the C8 will not be a ME despite what a lot of people in here and over the internet have been saying.

Meaning your theory is the ME will be available along side the classic formula FE models? It's possible. Or, looking at the capabilities of the Camaro in recent years, it's also possible that Chevy keeps the FE formula on the Camaro (some of the Camaro models are priced at $70-80k already, but are very capable cars) and moves the vette into a higher bracket in price and exclusivity, and makes the vette a ME only flagship car. It's fun to speculate, but we won't know until we know.
I think OP is referring to the updated North American Engine Forecast 2016-2024. The info was posted on the C-8 Forum. The word here is "Forecast" and it can change tomorrow.

Yes, I can't say about the C9 but I'm 99% sure that the C8 will be a FE/RD car.
Some things are best in their original, iconic form. I sure hope team Corvette doesn't follow Porsche's lead, but if I had to choose only between the two, you're probably right, the vette, as sketched here, would win over the Panamera. Ultimately though, I hope that big body luxury is left to team Cadillac in the future and team vette sticks with their jaw dropping iconic 2 seater machine. The Corvette was a dream car for me growing up, I'm sure it still is for many kids today.
I'm with FOOSH on this one. If you look at how long each generation was produced, I think it is silly to even think the C8 would be out before 2020 or so on...Statistically
The Mid engine car is not going to be a Corvette. I personally speculate it will be a GM "super car" high end sports car, and we will still have corvettes.
