So recently the temperatures have dropped here in GA and I noticed shifting into second feels kind of off. After dropping it in 2nd the clutch seems to feel slightly stuck on the way back up. Its a 2015 Z51, 36200 miles on it. I don't know if the weather has anything to do with it however does anyone have any suggestions? I am off tomorrow if I needed to take it to my local Chevrolet but if this is something that is normal would hate to wast my only day off in a dealership.
All you need is a turkey baster, (do not use one from the house..lol or buy a big syringe)
DOt 4 brake fluid, a can, and rags.
Remove cap
Suck out old fluid from reservoir with baster, put in can. (yes, use rags to protect anything the brake fluid might ever touch, don't spill it, don't squirt it, don't eat it...)
Refill reservoir with new brake fluid, then pump the clutch about 20 times.
Rinse and repeat until fluid is clean.
Put cap back on.
(it's called the 'ranger' method, I don't know why, but it is...)
It's easy, and cheap, and takes maybe 10 mins.
If your problem continues, take it to the shop.

I actually work at a dealership so I asked my buddy in the shop if he could go ahead and change the fluid then spoke with another mechanic who used to work for Chevy and they were saying that it sounds like it needs an adjustment being that I am only having this issue putting it into second gear and also because my motor was replaced about 3-4k miles ago.

Thanks!
I would say not weather as I have started the car in -10, -15, -25 this year and had no issues shifting. I have never driven without letting the car warm up for at least 5-10minutes though.

Yeah that could be an issue as well, I normally jump in and take off. Does your clutch ever feel off or any reason? I think I am just looking for any excuse to take it into Chevy tomorrow on my only day off lol .
I've had my 17 GS for about six months and shifting from 1st to 2nd gear still feels "notchy". It just doesn't go into gear smoothly. I recently drove the car from NJ to FL and, granted, it felt better as time went on but driving when the car is cold is when it becomes an issue.
By the way, I've already changed the clutch fluid.

Clutch never feels off, moving the shifter into 2nd gear I always have to put some pressure into it (could just be me but I feel like the Vette hates being downshifted into 2nd, upshifting tho no issues)
There is no adjustment for the clutch. The issue is the marginal 2nd gear synchro design of this transmission...lot of people have a notchy clash when shifting into 2nd, especially when the transmission is cold.
1. It's the "ranger" method because of forum member Ranger who was big into drag racing and swore by it.
2. You only needed to do this if you had a sticking or hung up pedal which was very common in C5s and C6s, but I've never had this happen in C7s. GM swore the black in the fluid was from the throwout bearing picking up some clutch dust past the seal and that it was a non-issue. I would periodically suck out the reservoir on my C5s.
3. The clutch isn't adjustable, but the shifter to linkage alignment is.
4. These transmissions are tough... it's not a "Marginal sychro" these new 6060s have very tough parts and they shift notchy when cold... plus, if you have a Z51 you have a cooler keeping it cool longer. I've noticed mine is fine once warmed up.
5. Swap the shifter for something like a MGW to take the slop out.
