Waxing Area
Just wondering does anyone wax the black plastic area below the back bumper on each side of the license plate. I'm thinking it is not a painted surface so waxing might put some fine scratches in the black plastic. Any inputs ??

I wax it and have not experienced any issues.

I polish that area just like the rest of the car. On mine, it's painted Carbon Flash Metallic, and I believe it's that way on all C7s.

Actually, that is a painted area on the OEM part. Polish, seal, wax, or coat just like any other paint on the car.

Of course, how about the OEM hood stinger (tape)?

I don't use abrasive polishes on the vinyl stripes, but I do wax, seal, or coat those areas.

The OEM stripes/stinger are actually paint on a vinyl substrate. pickleseimer's post is spot on.

Peel it off and get it painted on.

Mine is carbon flash also. What ever I am doing to the car, that piece gets it too ie: clay bar, polish, wax or quick detailer.

If it ain't moving, it gets waxed.
I'm sure that's a painted part.
