Hey members - need some feedback please. Just got 2016 Z06 with 3200mi. Haven even driven the car 1 mile and had issues with not being able to get into reverse. 7sp manual. Any ideas?
As in you are at a complete stop but it's in lockout? Lockout is normal for obvious reasons but not when you are at a standstill. Have the dealer look at it. Was it working ok during the test drive?

Bought it sight unseen! Yes, at a complete stop. Even rolling forward or "still shifting" thru the gears didn't get me any relief to get it into gear. I rolled forward down the street and then it went in fine - but that aint gonna work if I am in a parking garage!! LOL

'16 M7 Z. Strange I saw this. Twice in the past year it happened to me. Both times I'm in rev match & the light for R is lit. I let out clutch & damn thing rolls fwd a tad till I get on brake. Once was about 15% grade in parking lot with parking block in front. Was real lucky to just have enough room for 2 more tries before it engaged. Since 2nd time I'm careful to leave enough room to pull fwd. couple of feet to re-engage. Have no clue.
I don't have a z06 however I have an m7, car must be stopped and I have to shift to the very far right and then down, you have to shift it pretty far to the right. I find I have to use a tiny bit more force to shift into 2nd and reverse in the m7. Maybe just me.
OP, I would definitely have the dealer check the car. With 3,200 miles, you're under full warranty.
Pobrewey, not just you, especially when cold, the M7s require a bit more effort. This is why mine will come out of storage with fresh, full synthetic trans fluid

Was afraid of that and yes, under warranty. Yeah - I was putting in a little too much effort going to the far right, if you know what I mean - and it felt as if there was no "down" and into R - like that option did not even exist. I will definitely post back as to my findings in the hopes it helps some of you guys out. Big thanks!
Good luck buddy. I don't know where you're from, but do a little homework on your local dealers before you drop off your beautiful Z in some bozo's hands. Make sure the dealer has a tech who works on vettes.
