Default C7 trunk vs GT

With a v6 in the GT, You'd think you could get some golf clubs in there. But alas, Ford drivers had better stick to bowling! LoL.

If I had that car I wouldn't have time for golfing or bowling. You would find me on the road cruising.

I thought the GT had a trunk in the front since it doesn't have an engine there...????

one reason many folks are not exactly thrilled about a mid engine Corvette.

It is a concern of mine.

I daily mine, go to the grocery store, and drive it everywhere I can.

Its one of the reasons I love my Corvette, it's the most practical impractical vehicle out there.

I looked at the Cayman when Vette shopping and the storage space would have fit 12 bottles of wine. Maybe.

One REALLY BIG drawback to putting stuff in the rear of Vettes-All that stuff becomes missiles that could kill you even if you survive the crash.

I own both a mid-engine car and a C7. In the Vette I can put my Yeti, a couple of bags, two cases of wine and have room left over. In my mid-engine car the Yeti goes in the front seat. There's room for two cases of wine and a soft duffle in the trunk. Spill over goes on the floor on the passenger side - obviously, there is no passenger....

Here are photos showing the difference in sizes of the Vette and the mid-engine's trunks...

Out of curiosity, what 2 states are you missing?

Different missions. "Real Car" vs. "Rich Person's toy"

Lots of people interstate tour with Corvettes, and need the luggage space. The Corvette is a "real" car in that respect, in that a good number of people buy them to actually drive them to places, out on real roads, sometimes even in RAIN! (gasp!)

Contrast that with the GT -- virtually NO one interstate tours with a half-million dollar sports car. If you DO see one out on the interstate, there is a 99.99% chance its just a magazine doing a road test and saying "see how livable it is??".
"Lack of luggage space" will never be a reason for a lost sale on a Ford GT. People spending $500k on a sports car couldn't care less if it has a trunk, as they have a whole stable full of SUVs and other cars for all driving that actually involves a destination.

Think of it this way: There are a good number of people who use their Corvette as a Daily Driver (including myself), and don't have a pickup, SUV, etc. to handle daily commuting, going to Home Depot or when it rains. How many Ford GT owners can make that claim? I'd be willing to bet real money that number is precisely ZERO.

I suggest that you skip North Dakota and just visit a freezer in grocery store near you.

Duh... ya think maybe that's why Ford also sells SUV's?

Well, no, I don't have a Ford GT, nor am I rich, but I do split the DD duties between a Ferrari and the C7. Lately, the go to car, daily, has been the F-car. And, yes, it goes to Lowe's, Home Depot, Costco, ______.

...if I had a Ford GT I'd DD it as well, at the end of the day it's just a car.

I guess I could get by without the storage space. I am sure if I had the money for a GT I could probably squeeze a DD out of my budget for those grocery runs.

Well the Maton is a TE-1 or Tommy Emmanuel - 1. Does that count?

Just another reason the C-8 will have a front engine car, along with the mid engine and maybe a hybrid.

NCM Insurance agency told me to not take my C7 to the golf course.
Perhaps they are concerned about flying golf *****.
I found that request strange - but I comply mostly.

What do you think they'd tell a Ford GT owner?
