Ice Warning
New to the C7 experience, I never cease to be amazed with this awesome vehicle!!
This morning it was 24 degrees and, when I started it there was a advisory in the speedo area to the effect of ....
"Drive Safely, Icy Conditions"..... now THAT is impressive as a C2-C3 owner....!!!! LK

C6 had the same warning as do my BMW's. The warning is set at 37 deg F.

Yep, mine goes off at 37 deg f. I kept thinking this is odd, since 37 isn't freezing!

Wind chill factor likely reason....smile....still impressive!!
We live at 5,500 ft. and even when ambient temp shows 36 or so, our bird bath can get a glaze because
we are on a hilltop and get a fair amount of wind......LK

Most newer cars have this feature based on a temperature setting. If it’s 24 degrees, then you shouldn’t rely on the car to tell you to "Drive Safely, Icy Conditions.” Good reminder nonetheless

Yep, have had this in every car I've owned for several years now. Even my lowly cargo van has it.

I think they set it at 37 because bridges tend to freeze faster and if there is a wind chill, that can help freeze water sooner too.

Wind chill has nothing to do with the freezing point; that's only how cold it feels to exposed skin.
Have a good one,
