Default Shipping Cost

Anyone have an idea on what Shipping costs? I'm assuming there is a difference between enclosed vs open and probably the longer the distance the lower the price per mile. I'm looking at around 1300 miles and would be open to enclosed or open I guess. Thanks

Brian

enclosed is about $1 a mile.....open is about $0.75 mile.....spend the extra money.

Not every carrier goes everywhere....we used Exotic out of FL to get my wife's 2012GS from Chicago to Tampa area...closed trailer....worked out well....any issues we had were communication issues that were ultimately us learning the process...no complaints otherwise

Brian,

Please do yourself a favor and pay a little extra for a closed carrier. I had a vehicle shipped open carrier that arrived with windshield chips and scratches on the body due to weather and road debris. The money I saved on the open carrier I lost 10 fold.

Just had a vehicle shipped closed carrier from the East to the West Via Executive Auto Shippers. Car was covered and arrived in pristine condition in less than a week. I did not have to pay until the vehicle was in my hands and I inspected it with the driver. Good Luck

Enclose carrier via one of the majors haulers (Intercity, Reliable, Horseless Carriage etc) is definitive the way to go, however it costs a heck of a lot more than a $1.00 per mile, more like double that or better.
I've used all three above with success, however I would definitively rate Intercity the best as their communication far surpasses the others and once they pick up your car, it stays on that particular truck until it reaches it's destination. They take all the worry out of the process.

Be aware of consolidators who may load and unload your car from truck to truck and often will sit on a lot or in a warehouse for some time between transfers.

How much more where you quoted? I also have the option of flying down and driving it back if I wanted. I haven't made a decision on a car yet but have 2 in mind one is only 350 miles away. But at these prices I gotta get something. One thing I've learned about cars in FL is that you have to add almost a grand on the the asking price due to their extremely high dealer/doc fees.

I've typically had cars delivered 500>700 miles by the majors and it's been roughly $1200> $1500.
You can go on any of the major hauler's website and get a free quote via e-mail. I've found they are usually similarly priced.

Consolidators will be quite a bit cheaper, however risk increases significantly in my opinion.

What did you end up paying as that will be a similar distance to mine.

All you have to do is go to the haulers website quote areas, insert your name, e-mail and pickup from and deliver to zip codes and you will probably have quotes from all by noon tomorrow. I'm pretty sure you will find it's going to cost you more than $350 to get your car delivered from 350 miles away.

Also, personally, even if the C7 is being delivered, I would still go to the dealership to expect the car and handle the paperwork, especially if it is only 350 miles away. Some new C7s have paint peeling @ front bumper/fender seams, excessive orange peel, inconsistent body panel seam fitment among other things that often will not be seen in dealer photos. These issues (if existing) bother some more than others, however at least you are aware of them and can get them addressed by the dealership before it shows up at your door.

MacMulkin in NH, to my driveway in Riverview FL (1376 miles), I was quoted $1645 from Intercity. I ended up working shipping into my deal with MacMulkin and they use Intercity, exclusively I believe, which worked out. They picked the car up Nov 24th and was scheduled to be delivered the 29th. Had a delay due to the delivery before mine and was postponed until the 30th. Randy the driver with Intercity kept us informed and was flexible with delivery because my wife couldn't be home to take delivery until after 2PM. So A+ recommendation for Intercity, and they're a forum vendor!
