Hi, my Map from my Iphone will not fully populate using CarPlay. It works when not moving, but when I drive only the grids on the Map show up. I also get an error: SSL not working. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?
My car is a 2017 1LT with an automatic.
Thanks
Make sure that you have a clean reboot of your phone, just to be safe. And make sure the maps work completely on your phone while not connected to carplay first. Just want to verify that....
Are you sure your iPhone hasn't been hacked? There's been a number of security mess ups on Apples part as of late and SSL (really TLS) is Secure Socket Layer and is used for encryption and keeping your device safe. Is SSL isn't working it smells like somebody or something is trying to circumvent the security of your phone.

Sounds to me like you are out of data. Are you logged onto the car WiFi system in the car. I experienced this even though the icon showing connection had appeared. I called OnStar and found out I had run out of data! Bought more data, 20GB and my maps started working again. Data through OnStar was cheaper than buying unlimited data from Verizon! This is the downfall of CarPlay maps verses a true Nav system.

I posted this last Friday and I'm still waiting to hear back from Apple Tech Support (I know; Don't hold my breath).
THEN, yesterday I thought I'd give it another try for a trip down to Norman and it worked normal! So the minute I get home, I jump in my 2016 GMC Yukon and it's back to being screwed up again. Jumped in my wife's 2017 Ford Escape; same as the Yukon. Get back in the Vette, all is normal!!!!
I've got the direct number to the guy at Apple Tech Support that is working my case and was going to re-engage next Monday.
Stay tuned....
P.S.: I also, originally, experienced the map thing you're having. If you're using it just as a map (i.e., no destination established) it was doing the same for me. Plug in a destination, then it seemed to work. Fluke??? Maybe.... Never can tell now!!

How does this have anything to do with what I asked? Geeze. Good luck with your little iProblem....
I would get the SSL message when I was out of wi-fi data. You can still get Bluetooth audio as long as there’s a phone signal, but if you’re out of data, you won’t get maps on your screen when you plug the phone in.
Luckily A.T. & T is my cell phone provider, so I just added my car to my cellphone bill. It’s like another 20 bucks a month, but even with the occasional slowdown for overuse, it’s always on.
