Default Stage 2 wickerbills

I'm looking to buy and install the stage 2 wickerbills on my 2018 GS.
Problem is I don't have the car yet (tpw 1.1.2018) and I've been told they will fit only if the OEM spoiler has the bolt holes.

Don't want to buy the wrong parts but at the same time don't want to pass up a nice deals on a pair.

Any help?

I believe your car comes with stage 1. Mine did. If so, it bolts right up to existing holes.

Are you ordering through GM? I've been lookin as well, it's confusing. Got stage 1, want stage 2 and a great deal on OEM parts. The aftermarket ones look cheap but aren't.

I assume you'll be picking the car up at a local dealer - is that correct???

I'm not sure how the Stage 1 car is shipped. I have a Z07 that came with Stage 3 aero, but the Stage 2 & 3 aero parts were in the cargo compartment (I think they may be shipped to the dealer separate from the car nowadays).

I did a Museum Delivery. When a dealer (or the Museum in my case) gets the car they do a PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) and that's when they install stuff like the aero pieces.

When I picked up my car in Bowling Green the Museum PDI guys installed the Stage 2 aero bits onto the car.

The rear spoiler extensions/wings/wickers have 2-sided tape, and the Museum DOES NOT remove the protective strip covering the second side of the double-sided tape, so the wings were not "stuck" on - they were just bolted on.

I have read posts where other forum members have swapped on different extensions and they can have a little bit of difficulty removing the wings that are "stuck" onto the spoiler - it's a really strong tape. I've read of using a hair dryer to loosen the tape, then using nylon fishing line to saw through the tape to remove the extension.

I bought a set of Stage 1 extensions in order to reduce drag for high-speed events, and was expecting to have a hard time removing the extensions that were on the car, but that's when I found out that the Museum doesn't remove the protective strip so the extensions aren't "stuck" onto the spoiler - I just unscrewed the screws and easily removed the extensions, and when I installed the Stage 1 extensions I didn't remove the protective strip either, so I can easily swap back-n-forth.

Bottom line - get with your dealer and tell them that if your Stage 1 extensions aren't installed on the car from the factory, DO NOT install them!!!!! That way you won't need to deal with trying to cut through sticky tape. When you install your Stage 2 wickers, don't remove the protective strip on the tape so that when you install them they won't be stuck on and you'll be able to easily swap if you ever want the Stage 1 wickers back on.

They will be on there very securely with only the screws/bolts (10 screws total; 5 on each wicker; and you should get all 10 of them if your dealer doesn't install the Stage 1 wickers).

I've run my wickers that are only held on with the screws, not the tape, up to pretty high speed and they handled it perfectly - so you don't need that tape to hold them on.

Your GS comes with the Stage 1 wickers and Stage 2 uses the same holes. I cant remember if it comes with screws or you just re-use the old ones. The Stage 1 has double stick tape on it so do a search on how to pop off the old wickers. Mine popped off with a little pressure. Just be ready to catch them when they come off.

Just order this.

I'd recommend just going with the GM part. Take a look at this thread where I discussed going backwards - from Stage 2/3 to Stage 1:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-1-2-aero.html

Particularly take a look at post# 9 where you'll see the GM Part# 23256573 for the Stage 2 extensions, and a link to a forum vendor for the price of them. A year ago they were less than $150, but now are about $20 more than that. It's called a "kit" because you get the left and right extensions plus 10 screws.

You can search the internet or eBay using that part# to maybe find a better price - I just looked on eBay and the cheapest I saw was $165 shipped.

If anybody with a Stage 2/3 car wants the Stage 1 extensions, the GM Part# is 23259518 for the same price as the higher ones.

I just bought these - GM Part# 23256573 Stage 2 extensions. $149 + $7 shipped to my door. I doubt you will find them cheaper anywhere else.

I also installed these on my last Vette. Anyone that can operate a screwdriver will have no trouble.

I agree Bob

I installed my last set of stage 2 on the '17 without using the two sided tape and have been over 150 mph numerous times with out issue.

I just ordered a set of them last night from OEM parts world, hope they make it before Christmas. Hope it's as easy an install as it appears...
