A tune can be used to turn off the CEL and dial things in.
I personally installed Kooks 1 7/8" long tube headers with their Green cat x-pipe and have not had a CEL come on and I'm running a totally stock tune. I'm also running a stock air intake setup. I think others have had a CEL with the same exhaust setup that I'm running but they were running aftermarket cold air intakes which I believe is throwing things off too far and causing their CEL. If you want the ultimate performance increase from the headers, a tune is a must. I simply wanted the louder more aggressive exhaust. I will tune when she is officially out of warranty.

Thanks, I plan on getting LG Motorsports headers/high flow cats,cai, performance plugs and wires, 160° thermostat, and a tune. Want the sound and a little more power. I guessing that should get me around 550 hp.
