I have a friend that used to make most of his income pinstriping cars for the Cadillac and other GM dealers (think Suburbans and Tahoes) in Phoenix. As you say that seems to be mostly over. He now is very happily doing Harley's and helmets. To the extent he has sold his house and bought a large 5th wheel trailer and is traveling the country from Harley Dealer to Harley Dealer.
Your car looks great! I want to do a stripe around the hood stinger just like yours and have a few questions.
1-I assume it’s vinyl and what size or width is it?
2-How did you get the vinyl to shape with what appears to perfect curves to be flat and conform?
3-Is it one continuous piece of striping or multiple pieces?

I do believe it's 1/8 inch.
Just line it up with curb of the hood, putting one end down where you want to start. pulling on the tape as the angle you want to go.
Yes, it's vinyl.
I used 1/4 inch tape and didn't like it, so I doubled it up side by side. 2 pieces of 1/4 inch to make it 1/2 inch. I didn't feel like going back to the store to get 1/2 inch.
I curves really easy. You just hold it down with 1 finger and twist to the position/curve you want it. The roll you buy is big enough to waste some practicing.
I do occasionally, but most of the guys in there must not do anything else, so by the time I see a thread it's played out.
And they're brutal (they've driven away some of the most interesting posters since I became a CF member). It would be nice if this forum had a place where non corvette things could actually be discussed, and the thread wouldn't go to **** before the OP got at least a few real answers.
They could call the sub forum "Actual real non Vette issues that don't want STFU, Koko to be in the first few posts."
