So I recently purchased a 2015 Z51 and it did not come with a key (I bought it as a salvage and it will be my project car to rebuild). I ordered the actual key and a key fob from my local dealer and picked it up a couple days ago. When I tried to program the new key fob according to the manual, nothing happens. I opened the trunk with the actual key, turned it 5 times within 10 seconds (I tried this numerous times with varying quickness), and it does not say the "Remote Learn Pending Please Wait" like it is suppose to per the manual. The only thing that happens when I open the trunk is that the multicolor Corvette image appears in the dashboard for around 10 seconds with dashed lines in the lower left for the mileage, and then the screen goes blank. Any ideas of what the issue could be is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any responses.
Thanks Elmer! I'll take a look at it. And thanks for pointing out the "Firm" key turn distinction. Never occurred to me, so I'll give that a shot also.
Thanks for the suggestions Elmer, but unfortunately I still can't get it to work. To clarify my situation a little further, I've now tried opening the trunk with the key and then waited for the welcome Corvette logo to go away on the dashboard and the screen to go black. Once that happened, I tried the key and turning 5 times and variances of that. I get absolutely no response from the vehicle when I try this at all. No lights come one, the dash does not come on. It's like the computer doesn't recognize that the key is turning. Is there possibly a sensor that detects the key turning that could be bad? All the fuses and relay's appear to be good under the hood and in the trunk.
Also: Aftermarket radios can cause an issue when you try to get into the
programming mode. The radio triggers a code that the radio security feature is not
talking to the ECM properly. If you have an aftermarket radio and did not buy the
harness for the door beeps and OnStar, you might NOT be able to get into
programming mode.
Also: Canadian Spec cars can do the short programming procedure but must have
the dealer perform the long programming procedure.
Also: European Spec cars cannot do the short or long procedure. All remote
programming must be done by the dealer.
Also: This can be a long time “on battery”, it may be a good idea to hook a battery
tender up to the car during programming to insure that you don’t discharge the
battery to where the programming fails or the car won’t start.
Also,
NOTE: Make sure NO old remote transmitters are
anywhere near the car. THIS IS
IMPORTANT!
NOTE: It is recommended that you test the Steering
Column slot for functionality before going
past this step. If the SC doesn’t function, you
will be on a tow truck to the dealer to get
your remotes programmed.
Hi. According to the dealer, if you don't have any of the old fobs, the only way to get a new fob programmed is to take it in to them so they can hook it up to their computer. Also, you have to do 2 new fobs at that time, can't do just one. They were able to get mine connected very quickly. Hope this helps

No. This is incorrect. The dealer is wrong.
I can add 1 or add 2 and not have any FOBs prior to programming.
I thought so too at first. I tried everything multiple times over with no luck. And 4 different dealerships in my area all told me the same thing, that I had to bring it in. They said it was a theft deterrent issue. That the trunk key could be easily forged/picked, and if someone did that with new fobs they would be able to program their own fobs. Same as all the control modules in these vettes. They're all VIN locked, unless you flash them, which is no guarantee. So I don't know for sure. All I do know is I wasn't able to get it working after tiredlessly trying everything over and over and over. Regardless, good luck to you.
I tried this about a year ago and didn’t work so I decided to give it one more shot. To make a long story short, tried it again but it didn’t work. I was unable to start my car after so I must have got into the programming. Anyway I pressed and held the start button for 12 secs and thankfully my car started. I’ll probably just go to the dealer, I was really hoping I didn’t have to.
BTW, what did the dealerships charge to do the key reprogram?
No one asked u to repeat urself lol. Im with u, I believe that the instructions you posted worked for u and others…I’m just saying in my case it didn’t work. I just don’t want to brick my car and have to pay to get it towed, unless ur offering
