I am considering replacing my factory dash with a carbon fiber one (real carbon fiber). I have a 2017 GS. Has anyone had this done and had any issues with the dash rattling afterwards. Also looking to do the console. Anyone know of a location that does this type of install in the NY City area. Willing to go to NJ or CT if need be. Thanks
Just did mine, piece of cake. Take your time and follow the YouTube video. No rattles no problems. And I’m 79 and don’t bend like I used too, but still got it done in about two hours with a few Dark Amber breaks.

Thank you, i will give it a try i did watch the video and looked simple...
I have a 2014 that came with the standard dash panel. I bought a carbon fiber one and installed it my self. I got the detailed direction on this site. I followed them and it was easy. It probably took an hour and 45 minutes. The only step that took real time is a step where you have to remove the gauge cluster from the dash panel. The hard part is in GM's infinite wisdom they put security fasteners on the back of the gauge cluster. Although I have numerous tools and specialty bits, I did not have the security bit that would remove the fasteners. I found a set at a local Harbor Freight, but it was not the exact bit so it took awhile to remove and re-install the fasteners. But other than that it is a fairly straight forward process. I think I only had two beers during the entire process.
I had down the same thing on my C6 and it is a similar process. I am very mechanically inclined and had no problem doing the removal and installation. I think most guys that have some patience and some beer can do it.
I would suggest doing a search on this site for the step by step instructions. They are very good instructions including good photos.

Thanks for the input i shall give it a try. If I screw it up I will just sell the car and buy the ZR 1 with the carbon dash. Maybe not. Thanks again
